I love the Cherokee Rose story. It's so beautiful on its own but to relate it to Carol and Sophia was next level. Daryl's a decent human, he's just been dealt a shitty hand.

I think you guys put a like on my comment on the last ep and I know you record in advance, but the walkers don’t eat each other. They’ll eat a fresh human corpse before it has turned into a walker. Sometimes it’ll be a bite, (the walkers have super short attention spans, but are always hungry and ready to react to the next stimulus) sometimes limbs missing, and if uninterrupted, sometimes they’ll eat a whole body. Seeing how Otis was absolutely torn to shreds….

Lol, imo Daryl is not the hothead in season 1. He has a logical reaction to the news his brother is left behind. Shane is the hothead, goes nuts and completely loses his cool in every situation, how can you not see that? Man got a bit stressed so pointed a gun at Rick and assaulted his wife who wanted nothing to do with him. New haircut looks cool though 😂

You guys are drinking the Shane cool-aid. You've coped yourself into whitewashing and defending his every action. He didn't "make a hard choice to save another" as you put it 😂 He got HIMSELF injured, knew he wouldn't make it back with his bum ankle and ended up bottling it and killed Otis to give himself a better chance of survival. Your assumption they both wouldn't have made it is based upon his own assumption he made whilst bottling it. He saw his chance and took it, he's not some altruistic savior.

One of the best things about this show is that over a decade later people can still battle it out in comments about what Shane did with Otis. And I think 50 or 100 years from now, assuming nobody went nuts and nuked the planet, the same discussions and arguments will be had. That kind of passion and argument is part of what makes this show incredible and literally timeless!

The scene is perfect because it creates that argument of good and bad. Everything in this show has a grey area and I think its great writing to do that. Nothing is clear cut.

So... I have learned not to get too attached to any one of these characters. That said I like our current main characters, Rick because he tries to do the right thing, Shane because as annoying as he is, he is kind of badass. His knee jerk reactions don't strike me as someone who was a trained cop unless it is obvious you have to shoot or be shot - in this case shoot or be eaten. I have no opinion on the Otis situation in that I feel it was a slippery slope that Shane got on with that action. Yes, do the ends justify the means - are they ever supposed to? Sure Carl is better, Shane was saved so he could get the respirator back to Carl. I don't have a good feeling about this farm situation, especially about what is not being said from Hershel.

Ngl you’re right, I love S&P and they are my favourite reactors but they’ve had a tendency in the past to like grey characters and defend and justify their every action and it would be no problem if they accepted their actions instead of justifying it but for them to like them , they have to try and make them a good person which I don’t get . I love characters regardless if they’re a good person or not if they’re greatly written which Shane is.

I appreciate that, it's why S&P is by far my favorite reaction channel, I love the nuance you can find in characters and situations. But on this one I was mainly trying to point out you've taken Shanes assessment of the situation and keep repeating it as fact, when I and a lot of others are putting to you that it's not actually an accurate assessment. So far Shane has only shown one gear in high pressure situations, like flipping off the handle and losing his shit at the CDC, about to blow Dr Jenners brains out, before Lori could convince him to let them leave.

But you ARE seeing Shane as only good in my opinion soo.. im not sure thats a good enough explanation. With that said, i have never before experienced this with you. You usually do see both good and bad within characters and have very interesting discussions. But with Shane, i dont know, it feels like you are blind to his faults.
