The Walking Dead Sync Up Solution (Patreon)

Hey S&P Fam!

we are really excited to be starting our *The Walking Dead* journey with you all. we are watching the US Netflix version which seems to be good for most people, however it seems the US Amazon Prime version and some Netflix versions in other countries are running off a slightly different version which can sometimes lose sync. for those experiencing this see below for our current best solution, and please offer more in the comments down below!

Please note the US Netflix version 1x1 is around 30 min longer than the Amazon prime version so this is the only episode this work-around will not work for.

Below we have a link to a free YouTube custom speed extension for google chrome (might be similar ones for other browsers) and it is recommended you set our reaction to 1.0425 which will have no noticeable impact on the reaction but help it sync up to the slightly faster versions some people have.

its annoying for us and the community on occasion when streaming platforms upload slightly different versions of a show but we always do our best to make it work for everyone! if you have found another solution share it down below to help everyone out.

Not sure if it would be a pain or not. But episode 1x1 didn't have any kind of a countdown for syncing the video. Is that something that could be added?

Thank you! So annoying that different streaming platforms do this. I’m in the UK and I’ve tried NowTv and Amazon but both are not synced correctly

Yes please! No biggie if that isn't something you guys want to do, but it does really help with syncing, especially if I have to pause to do something in the middle.

will there be a version uploaded where we don't have to sync anything up at all? i thought you did a poll recently and it got over 80 percent saying that we would like that as an option. will that be happening in the near future? All the best

The worst is the US Office that streams on Netflix in the UK. Some episodes are cut entirely differently, scenes in different order, etc.

So annoying they do that! My Amazon prime is the same length as the US Netflix tho. So is prime a different length in like Europe or Australia or something?

what country are you from Lindinha? the US Prime seems to be the one not syncing up at the moment

Im in the US. I have purchased all of TWD seasons on Amazon Prime, you know for streaming, so I thought maybe thats why my version was the same length as the us Netflix one, like maybe the purchased version is a different length idk, but I logged out of my prime account and searched for TWD to check and it still shows the same length on Prime as the one I see on Netflix. 1 hour and 7 minutes for the pilot on both streaming services and 44:49 for the sec ep.

I'm watching on Binge and even with the extension, my version seems to outpace S&P's. I'm in Brisbane, QLD as well

For those who have slower versions, speed up to 1.5x speed. US TWD version runs around that speed, so it runs together almost perfectly, with the exception of longer black screen transitions (which US dont have)

Would you consider posting 3 episodes of TWD a week if that's possible considering how long the series is? No pressure tho!

yeah unfortunately binge is the worst version, we used to have this problem. if you're outpacing us than you probably need to speed our reaction up slightly more, if you find a solution or even if you dont direct message us and we'll see how we can help! if you have a vpn and netflix then that is what we are doing at the moment which can also be an easy fix. once you find the sync up value it should be easy from there

I mean there is a such thing a fair use. I've been watching them for years and I understand the issues with copyright but im currently watching 2 channels on patreon right now and have watched other in the past react to walking dead and I never had to sync one episode. Its sucks because I was excited for them to start it but as soon as I seen it was another sync reaction it instantly turned me off.
