I’m so excited for this!!!!

Cody Dowd

been waiting for this!

Ludus Aurea

Let’s goooooooo now you get the reveal of what Jenner told Rick, Michonne, and Herschel unlimited ammo meme. Thank gooodness season 2 is done, now you can get to the good seasons. I think you would like the walking dead comics more. The show is a must watch don’t get me wrong but the comic is more like Spartan described at the beginning.

Jojo Garlin

This episode is Rick officially stepping up and standing on business. These past two seasons Rick has been going back and forth, struggling with doing what’s right and what needs to be done. This is him finally putting his foot down and being the leader he needs to be

Chase

the ricktatorship has begun!

Warsame

I love your Reactions and Discussions❤️❤️

Julien

One very last comment about Shane: if his attempt to kill Rick was shocking to you, which it very clearly was, then you've completely misunderstood the character. That's what people have been trying to get you to see. Because that scene was not supposed to be *that* surprising. We were supposed to know or suspect. The entire episode built up to it. The entire season built up to it. Even Rick knew! And we the audience had more information than Rick. But you two were completely blind to that. No one who saw Shane for what he was (the guy who had *already* considered killing Rick!) was surprised. Shane didn't suddenly lose the plot. He had been losing the plot all season and even before. Shane's attempt to kill Rick was the logical conclusion to a tragedy that had been unfolding all season. That's why people are on your case. We all love Darth Vader. He was cool af. But none of us thought he was a good guy. That's the difference. You two seemed to think that Shane was a fundamentally good guy who made the occasional mistake and sometimes went too far - when the show has made it blindingly clear for more than a season that no, this guy is bad news. One last thing: what was it that was supposed to be put in place to prevent Shane from spiraling? Who was supposed to put that in place? Shane was a grown ass adult who couldn't deal with the reality that his best friend's family would never be his. No one owed him anything. And no one could have helped him. That, is the tragedy.

My boy Hershel shooting that shotgun as if it was an AK lol

Demented Avenger

the comics are so good. The show is good, but having read the comics first it was sad how many characters were metaphorically assinated in the show.

DavidLynchGlazer

We got Hershel out here warping reality with the infinite shotgun ammo 💀

macc61

Wrong. As you know they debated about how to handle the prisioner the prevuous episode and anticipated whether or not Shane would go along. We only find out when he breaks the guys neck and staged the woods chase to lure Rick. In fact Rick had to say it for viewers to know that Shane planned to kill him. Then Shane admitted it. Then we knew. Only then.

macc61

I did not see that coming ether. I loved Shane too but he did not choose his loyalty to Rick over his NEED for Lori.

KP

The show begins now

Alissa

As you guys progress through the seasons of the show, it will become more apparent how much Rick killing Shane was a huge turning point for Rick's character arc and the group as a whole. I've really been enjoying re-watching the show through your guys first watch!

T.C.Bullock

You guys would have loved the The Talking Dead. It was on after every episode. Some actors from that episode would come on, fans would call in. If you're ever bored I'm sure you could find some of them to watch from your favorite episodes.

SpXek

Hershall and the infinite shotgun shells

Finn Horwell

Their was talk about adding an extended moment during filming the show. Rick was always going to kill Shane but their was plans of an extention showing that Rick discovers that Shanes gun wasn't loaded. Meaning he was simply trying to scare him into line and setting a line in the sand. Spartan was technically correct with Shane playing "devils advocate" if they added that scene

Dreamknight942

I dunno if that would have been in line with how they had built Shane’s character, he had become a rabid dog by that point.

Julien

That would have been a very silly addition and cope. Also having a loaded gun doesn't mean you mean to kill. So to unload the gun for theatrics in a dangerous environment is just very silly. If Shane wanted to just scare Rick or whatever, he could do it exactly the same way with a loaded gun. To go out of their way to unload Shane's gun just to show that "see, he wasn't serious!" is too dumb for words.

Becca

I was always disappointed that the GoT aftershow was so sucky compared to the talking dead. I never missed an episode! The one with … well, uh, let’s say, when ‘someone’ was saying goodbye and how the didn’t realize their character would be cast off so fast. They had just bought a place close to set- well, I actually felt so bad for that actor.

Josh Ashford

With Lori looking disgusted at Rick, I think its more to the fact that Carl was the one to put Shane down, someone that Carl looked up to a lot

Becca

That was never what I got from it. I always thought that Shane and Rick were the very embodiment of civilization vs not having civilization. And that the ideal is to not say one is better than the other, but in order to survive AND thrive, so someone is going to have to become both. Shane is the ideal of a loving, but survival of the fittest type world. Rick is the ideal of a strong man, but in a civilized world. If Rick is the hero, then he can’t evolve into Shane. But if he doesn’t then he loses. So his path is a precarious balance between right and might. It’s the very same question the guy asks Lucy in Fallout “The question is, will you still want the same things when you've become a different animal altogether?”- same internal ethical struggle. I loved Shane as a character. And if we lived in a primitive world, I would absolutely choose to be in Shane’s group in those days. Now, flip the script and put them back in modern society? Well, I’m not even sure Shane should’ve been allowed to be a police officer!

Bradley

“But where the fuck is Andrea?” Merch when? Lmao

Bradley

“Andreuhh”**

Julien

@Becca: About that last sentence, as a member of a certain minority demographics in the US, I'll say that Shane is entirely consistent with being a cop actually. Otherwise, I like your analysis and I don't see that it contradicts mine. It's just a completely different framework that I also find entirely valid. I approach this particular story more from the perspective of tragic tale of two brothers, one of which covets what the other has, thus rotting his own soul. Jealousy, envy, and covetting, leading to perdition. I place less primacy on the philosophical debates re survival and justice etc, and more on the inner workings of Shane. So I see a Shakespearean tragedy of a man doomed by his own moral failings. But I think all of it is valid, provided one's eyes are wide open about what Shane is. Our reactors' eyes were closed.

Julien

A lot of people get this wrong, and I did too years ago when I first watched. On rewatch, it's so so so obvious that it's about Carl, not Shane. She was listening on the Shane part and only reacted when he mentioned Carl. I have no idea why so many of us thought and think it's about Shane.

Becca

Dude, show respect- The Ricktatorship 😝

Fuzzy Dunlop

Spartan, I still can't understand your love for Lori Grimes. I don't get why you love her so much and wear a t-shirt with her face on it.

liam

I'm pretty sure shanes gun was originally supposed to be unloaded and he actually lured rick out to kill him because he was losing it and couldn't take losing carl and lori, i saw this in an interview years ago and for whatever reason they changed it but i always preferred the idea that shane wanted rick to kill him and had an empty gun in that final scene

Finn Horwell

100% agree with both. Just an interesting idea from behind the scenes that i agree wouldnt have worked. At the end of the day shane last longer in the show then the comic so im happy with the end of shane

Chase P

Weapons reaction

hypocritex

Ricks anger at the end was mostly because of the way Lori reacted to the news he killed Shane. I'm sure after that.. it hurt him ontop of all the pain he was already dealing with. THATS when he needed her support. She had no right to react that way to him. I hate Lori. Also.. Andrea. I just find her obnoxious. And oooo a Samurai. Can't wait for you guys to meet them. Even if Lori's look of disgust was about Carl.. and I don't think it was.. She should be mad at herself for ONCE AGAIN, not watching the damn kid.

hypocritex

Julien..Speculation. Because first of all.. Carl shouldnt have been out there.. If she would ever fucking watch him and where he is.. He wouldnt have had to deal with that. Its more likely about Shane. So if she wanted to be angry about Carl.. She should be angry with herself.

DEKU

Great finale great reaction I'm really excited to see your reaction to S3 ❤️❤️

Becca

What Spartan assumed and what we all wanted is for Shane to be …. WARNING: Tiny spoiler…. be the kind of man Rick *eventually* becomes-hard, ruthless when necessary, but compassionate and honorable. At least, I feel that is what kind of man he became right before the bridge explosion. So I’m super excited for Spartan to finally see that man evolve because he is the kind of character Spartan loves- Leonidas, Commander Shepard, Maximas, etc. Rick is right there in that realm of hero (or is will be eventually).

Enemy

Now that you guys finished the season I can share this since it isn't a spoiler. The cool thing about how Spartan interpreted Shane's final scene is that that was exactly Jon's suggestion for the character that they scrapped later, Jon's idea was for Rick to check Shane's gun afterwards and the gun would be unloaded. So in Jon's mind while doing the scene, the reason why Shane kept taunting Rick was to prove wheter or not he could be the man who does the hard thing.

Anaya Imari

THIS ISN’T NO DEMOCRACY ANYMORE!!! Classic! One of the greatest scenes!!! They tried to turn on Rick over some bullshit! He said AHT AHT! Try again! Go out on your own and see where that gets you! They got real quiet lmaoooo!!!

Anaya Imari

Yeah same! I use to always think she was mad about Shane! I think they did that on purpose as well. It just makes sense for her character. She was always wish washy!

syluskitten

Lori's actress herself said her reaction was about Carl not Shane being killed

Michelle

you guys might be the first reactors to pick up that lori got mad because carl put him down not for rick killing shane!! everyone always villainizes her for that but the entire time rick is telling her he killed shane she doesn't react all that much, not until he mentions carl

J Osceola

It's not that you don't think it was, you just refuse to acknowledge it. LOL

J Osceola

Jesus dude its a tv character.

Fuzzy Dunlop

Calm down, brother. It’s not a serious comment.
