Melba/Clarissa Mao isn’t my favorite character either but Pudgey is correct that they needed her crusade of vengeance as the catalyst for getting the Rocinante into the ring. It’s unfortunate that so much must be cut out of the series because of the lack of time since all this is far more fleshed out, and makes a lot more sense in the books. It’s not that you love Clarissa much more, but she’s less annoying because you get to understand her thoughts and motivations more thoroughly. The books are just amazing!

Drummer’s first name is Camina, so Spartan heard correctly. Ashford is a complex character. I can’t explain more than that about him but I love him.

As to why the martians are a bit rude when dealing with holden, you also have to understand that many of the martians view him as a thief, having stolen the Tachii (the roci) from the donager all those years ago haha! I don't think the common soldiers were filled in on how close mars wars to destruction and how they saved the planet. Likely the old rumors of them "stealing" the roci would be more at the fore front of their minds.

Shout out to Pudgey on remembering Drummer and Ashford’s names. Spartan should give her props for that, given the ability for both them to forget the names of every character on every show they watch!!!

I'm with ya Spartan... I also can't stand Melba at this point. She can get spaced or 'deconstructed' any time as far as I'm concerned!

I love how much effort this show put into making space physical match reality as much as possible!!

Yep, gravity has always been a character in this show. Its just show that getting the little details right worth it becasue it not only will satisfy the nerds but make the show more unique and interesting for the general audience. And it dont take much really, just a competent writer team and a few passionate people willing to go one step further.

Exactly. Also the whole chain of events being classified I'm sure many of them believes they are directly responsible or at least somewhat involved in the destruction of the Donnager. The Rocinante was attached to the Donnager so them flying around with it is a constant reminder to every Martian to what happened to that ship and who is "responsible" for it.

Perfect example of an outstanding support character in this show. Not only the writing is great but the casting crew has done a phenomenal job.
