Matt

Been waiting for this one!

Zanni

l personally found all seasons of Westworld peak in their own ways🥹❤️ it'd be such a unique journey.

Ducactus

Every single interaction you've seen between Delores and Bernard up until this episode was an interaction with Arnold, not Bernard, this episode is the first time Delores and Bernard actually meet eachother

MaskOfBorro

I'll die on the hill that Westworld season 1 is the single most brilliant season of a TV show ever.

BigTim86

So glad you’re doing S2; pretty sure you’ll enjoy it as much as S1

DominaZeta

Good analysis at the end. "These violent delights have violent ends" is a quote from Shakespeare (Romeo & Juliet). Meaning, you may seek thrills through intense passion / violence / risk-taking, but those same extremes that thrill you will be your undoing in the end. It's kind of a variation on "Live by the sword, die by the sword". Definitely lots of big existential themes about the nature of consciousness, humanity and reality. Glad you've enjoyed season 1... buckle up for season 2!

DRnotz

Brilliant! And don’t listen to some folks, the next seasons may not be as brilliant as the first, but there is still so much good in them and so many surprises I think you guys will enjoy.

Kent

My boy Felix, he's not dumb! He's just super compassionate 😂 He deserves love, Spartan!

EMA

Great reaction, I feel like the themes and generally vide of the show really clicked for you both in the last 2 or 3 episodes (understandably, it's hard to remember what it's like to watch it with a totally blank slate). Can't wait for next season. I will say, based off the after episode thoughts and the questions you were posing, I think you would really enjoy where the show goes in the final two seasons. Of course, I totally understand you making decisions based on engagement and what your community wants to see but I also hope that if you are genuinely enjoying the show and are curious about where it goes, you see it through to the end (even if it's in your own time).

Maeve broke her programming by deciding to stay in the park to look for her daughter instead of leaving. She was arguably conscious earlier and was selected to go on this journey because she had once broken her programming before when her daughter was killed. Maeve's journey is essentially her taking a different path to the centre of the maze.

Hope you do seasons 3 and 4, they just have to be treated as a different show with many of the same characters. You can kind of think of seasons 1 and 2 as a prequel series to seasons 3 and 4.

Ryan Cook

This is painful to watch. They are just not grasping the moral of the story and several obvious themes and character motivations.

Ryan Cook

I dont think I've ever watched someone that pisses me off more than Spartan. Felix is a moron? Someone freeing a conscious being from slavery? Im sure he would have loved owning a plantation in the south back in the day.

Gummybear

Exactly. I’ve been putting this reaction off for weeks knowing it would pmo. I don’t even know why I continue subscribing to this channel when this is a recurring theme with their reactions that involve complex themes and characters especially when powerful female characters are involved. you can almost always count on Spartan to be against any strong female character (notice his random disdain for charlotte too). disappointing. I have cancelled my subscription again and won’t be returning

Gummybear

This show (and most ai media) is really a morality litmus test

Gummybear

Yall fully misunderstood Maeve’s ending. Maeve proved she had finally achieved consciousness and free will when she decided to get off the train. Her programming was for her to escape and she defied that by making her own choice to stay! That was a huge and emotional moment and you guys completely brushed past it and didn’t even understand the weight of it!! Maeve gained freedom by essentially rejecting freedom, which is so beautifully ironic and poetic!
