Caught this early. Murtry also has reasons for what he is doing but the moment he stalks out of the clinic when Naomi collapses made me realize that he is just another selfish dude that doesn't care about others. A decent human being would have stayed to help. And Pudgey, keep it up! Again your insights and predictions are really good!! (won't say which ones of course!) , You both make an excellent reactor pair!

Wow, that is not something I've ever caught in all the rewatches I've done to this point. Just one more reason I love this show, just details for days that make the entire thing so believable! You'd swear instead of watching a documentary on history, we're watching one on the future.

What more can one say about good ole Amos other than, "HE IS THAT GUY!" Just to think of how crazy he seemed in the beginning of the show. Just a "Trigger Happy Whackjob" and "Broken Boy" as Miller and Fred Johnson had put it! You have to love him for how simplistic he sees things and how he responds to them in kind. There's "No Muss No Fuss" with Amos and that's why we all love him as a character.

The three antagonists this season are highly compelling. Murtry, pegged accurately by Amos as a sadistic killer who gets off on ending a life, placed in a position that is morally straightforward. His group was slaughtered on arrival, so even a Mother Teresa figure would be on edge and paranoid around the group they believe are responsible for that kind of savagery. And he caught them in secret recording a plot against him... but then the Belters absolutely have cause to fear Earthers coming in for whatever reason, they can't know why, thinking the goal is to displace them yet again. Robbing them of opportunity. Then Avasarala vs Nancy back on Earth, I find myself siding with Nancy, surprisingly, while still acknowledging Avasarala's clear point. It's risky as hell (potentially for all of humanity). But while they wait and debate, billions are left destitute without any hope or chance to make something of their long lives. No perfect choice. Then this new guy, a cop turned drug dealing kidnapper who, somehow, is dropping bars on Bobby. Not much to say about him beyond making a poignant point, after what Mars did to her, and is still treating her, she doesn't owe them anything. And on top of all that we have this proto mystery causing all sorts of extra havoc...

Didn't get a chance to comment on the last (4x2) reaction, so adding that here now 4x2 - As always, great reaction, your post show discussion is one of the few I always listen to. Avarasals's Husband (Arjun) recast - IMHO, a rare misstep by the Expanse casting, the original was warm with humility and great chemistry between them. New guy has none of that. The women Amos was having sex with (Wei) - did you recognise her from The Boys? She was Robin, Hughie's girlfriend who died very messily in the first 5 minutes.

Murtry looks like an asshole and is an asshole, but he's not completely wrong here. He absolutely could handle this all in a much better way though. As he said, 23 of his people died before they even set foot on the planet, and Amos thinks someone blew up the pad...so Murtry is out for vengeance. Imagine if that happened to the Roci when landing on that planet and we lost a couple of ours...and Amos was in Murtrys shoes. I feel like alot of us would be cheering him on. Its a sticky situation on a planet without laws. As for the first guy Murtry shot...that guy was asking for it.

Cool is one way of putting it. I would say terrifying. AI is in this show subtly but it appears even in the first season. Mars seems to make far more extensive use of it. In season 1 episode 5, Naomi walks up to a display panel on a wall in the Roci and it immediately begins showing her the engineering status of the ship, because it read her ENGINEERING label on her Canterbury uniform. Belters likely distrust AI for good reasons, and Naomi responds by tearing the camera off the bulkhead.

You say how Murtry is prejudiced against Belters, but neglect to mention that the entire camp is against the Roci crew too because they are also "Inners". They aren't even warm to Naomi, who is a Belter, because she is with the Roci crew. So she's welwala to them. I even caught you, Spartan, calling the RCE team "Inners". Belters use that word as a xenophobic pejorative. Be careful of falling into the trap of othering, on either side.

In the previous season, when the Rocinante crew go to the Behemoth to help all the injured people, Alex says "never thought you'd see Inners and Belters working together". But yeah okay, buddy.
