HDMI your laptop / tablet to the TV and use the TV as a 2nd monitor (not mirror display)

Season 5 woo!! As I've mentioned before, the season 5 opening will be updated every single episode this season. And as always the first episode has the most changes, so let's go over them! -In the clip of the ISS flyover, many ships are seen leaving Earth. -We have a new clip of Chesapeake Bay in the North American Trade Zone. In it we can see the water levels rise. -A new clip of some cities and a body of water, with many ships seen leaving for Luna. -A new clip showing Lovell City on the Moon, with the Earth in the back. -We see many ships leaving Mars in the Mariner Valley Settlement clip. -Then we zoom further in on a part of Mars were we can see the Razorback landing, and a convoy (likely Bobby's) moving towards it. -A new clip of Tycho Station. There are 3 details in this clip that I will mention: --A ship labeled Lazy Songbird is leaving Tycho Station. This is the ship Amos takes to Luna. --A ship labeled Chetzemoka is heading towards Tycho. This is the ship that Naomi charters to go find Filip. --An object zooms past the top left of the screen, caught by some of the Sentinel satellites. -A new clip of the Ring Gate, with some UNN and MCRN ships guarding it, and colony ships transiting it. -A new clip of the Ring Space with Medina Station, and many ships traveling through the rings. -Holden floating by a Ring Gate. This gate is labeled Laconia, and an MCRN ship is seen passing through it. -A new system is shown, with an MCRN traveling by a planet, and some structure labeled with a ?, before the show's title appears.

Don't worry too much about season 5 and 6 feeling rushed. I know it doesn't feel like there's a lot of time left, but trust the showrunners. They haven't let you down yet :)

Naomi boards her ship the Chetzemoka! A special connection of The Expanse to me. Chetzemoka was a chief of the S'Klallam tribe during the Indian Wars of the late 19th century, widely credited with helping prevent the massacre of the white population of my home town. I grew up next to a beautiful city park named after him.

Arjun 2 on the hate list is actually hilarious. I think a lot of people would agree that he was the one miscast in the whole show. The first actor had a different vibe that was very endearing and his personality fit perfectly next to chrisjen and when they changed that it just felt a bit wrong.

You're right about the new Arjun. The guy was not the right choice for the part. He's a decent actor but he was a completely different personality than the original and it just didn't work.

You finally made it to season 5! This is pretty much my favorite season of television ever. I feel like this is where the Amazon big budget came together with the great storytelling and character work from the writers to create something amazing. Very excited to hear your take on so much. Enjoy!

Yeah, no doubt the first one was a lot more enjoyable, but honestly, the second one probably nailed reality better. There was a subtle touch of pettiness in everything. The first one was a great counterpart, yin and yang, as Pudgy and Spartan put in good words. The second one was probably overshadowed in the relationship and more cold in everything. Could not work with what kind of personality the first one was.

i clapped when pudgey said she didn't like the new husband also "I don't see the vision" well lets revisit those words pudgey at the end of the season :P

well they would have used Brian George again for Arjun if they could but as a highly sought after actor he was not available when the show was resurrected. Actually one of the few! so many loved this show that they were able to retain most of the cast and crew despite nearly tearing the sets down in 2018!

A little surprised Naomi has not made anyone's list. This might sound controversial but the Expanse show went a little out of their way to make Naomi more of a "less liked" character vs the books. There, I have said it. I won't go into details right now but as a book reader (many times over!) I have picked up on those differences! We will see how things progress.

I don't think I can go into details while they are watching but if you have read the books you would know that Naomi did not do some of the things that she did in earlier seasons in the books.

Feel behind and catching up, so haven't been commenting, but I have to add this - you guys are amazing, just during the course of this episode, you observed and correctly speculated about a major plot point of the final three books, from a few lines of dialogue. Not going to say what though 😁

Naomi (in the show) may have made a bad decision that betrayed the trust of her team. But at the end of the day, most people don't really hold it against her or stay angry about it for long. She had her reasons and no one is perfect, the good she's done and her value to the team greatly outweighs any of her more negative traits.

You guys probably don't realize this, but that video Naomi was watching of Fillip didn't show him involved in anything bad. He was in a public area just walking around.
