This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. Golladan

This is IMO the second best episode of the season. And upon recent rewatches I think the reason I like it so much is because a big chunk of the fight in Winnipesaukee is one long take.

Golladan

Opening changes: -The growing Free Navy, joined by the Tynan and Dewalt, are moving past Uranus. -There are even fewer ships outside the Ring Gate.

Golladan

The ship is still rigged to blow via a proximity detonator. However since Naomi is now confirmed alive, and in the ship, they can no longer be certain that the trap will work. So they want Camina and her faction to destroy the Rocinante instead.

Hans Engelen

[Comment precarious] It's not going to be pretty.

Golladan

Got the conclusion to the joke this episode.

Hans Engelen

We did ... I guess I remember now why I didn't remember the conclusion ... It wasn't funny at all :/ Or I missed it.

Golladan

Yeah I think it's supposed to be funny in-universe, particularly if you're prejudiced. Not something most viewers would find funny, especially at this point in the story.

Golladan

Arjun being dead makes sense, if you consider the damage that the rock inflicted. It hit northeast of Philadelphia. Which means it hit between Philadelphia and New York City (where Arjun lives and teaches). The distance between Philadelphia and NYC is roughly 130 kilometers. We saw what it did to the prison Clarissa was in, and that's SOUTHWEST of Philadelphia. We were told that levies failed and Manhattan (where Columbia University which is where Arjun teaches) was under water. We heard (and saw) what it did to Baltimore. The shockwave destroyed the high rises and flooded the city. Baltimore is roughly 144 kilometers from Philadelphia, in the opposite direction from New York City.

Yes, I was going to mention that, the long single take as they fight off the intruders while trying to take off in the shuttle. Its a pretty brilliant long take! Amos does get some shrapnel in the face but Hutch rescues him. That means when Hutch is shot in the back, Amos is going to go back for them. Book readers know what Naomi is up to, but like so many plots in this show, the reveal is sometimes later that one would like however it is always in keeping with what real life would be like!

I wander what happens next? The living have beef with the living and then after that zombies turn up

AntiGrav1ty

Arjun's death makes sense but the show doesn't explicitly show the level of destruction those rocks did and they definitely undersell how much of a cataclysmic event it was. They only show some of the destruction and you have to infer the rest. Baltimore and the prison where Amos was at were not that close to the impact of the second rock and yet they were completely destroyed or flooded, Arjun was much closer when it hit. The news feed talking about a few million deaths on impact is also absolutely off from what would happen with a hit like that. In the books, hundreds of millions die immediately due to the impacts and eventually many billions due to environmental disasters and the breakdown of society.

Varun Laks

The death toll estimate grows each time the news feed talk about it. It is meant to emulate news in real life that always starts low and only includes confirmed deaths. Ty talked about it on Twitter at the time. Even in this episode, the military guy in the sit room with Avasarala says that the death toll is still going up. Also the "billions" number in the books is only given in Babylon's Ashes, which as you said is due to environmental damage. While the show doesn't outright say that same number (although marketing material for S6 did), there's a scene very early on in S6 that is meant to tell the audience that the same time of damage is happening. Most of the damage stems from that as opposed to the direct impacts themselves, because two of the three rocks hit in the middle of the ocean.

Couple days late in watching this one, halfway through that fight scene I noticed there hadn’t been any cuts. I freaking love one take scenes, this is one of the best of them!!

The shuttle scene was so tense! I had forgotten how hard it is to breathe through all of it, and I like how it culminates to a successful takeoff, and the painting-tier visual of Amos looking back down at earth with the glow of the sun in his face. Maybe you can leave some things behind.

My grandparents own a lake house on Lake Winnipesaukee...and they also fit the stingy rich person stereotype to a T. It was so funny to see 'Island Winnipesaukee' mentioned in this show and also the mention of how little the people owning the houses would care about helping them... my grandparents won't even help their own children so lol TRUE
