Finally Dexter next week

Hans Engelen

[Comment Resigned] It's the end

Golladan

For the final changes to the opening: -Debris outside the Ring Gate where the Free Navy ships that Mars destroyed the previous episode. -The rail guns that were being built around the Ring Station are complete and operational.

Mo

The end of an amazing journey! Still holding out hope for them to make 3 more seasons for the last 3 books

Ignorance

So excited to see this, it has been a fun journey

Golladan

Couple of things: -As we get Naomi's lines about "maybe something you said" while Filip is leaving on his own, and Filip's conversation with his father about having a choice, we are reminded of Naomi's words to Filip the previous season: "Walking away is the only choice anyone ever has." -When Marco is being disintegrated, he looks to where Filip is supposed to be. -Don't know if you guys saw it, but when the credits come in, there is some stuff happening with the Ring. We can see the structure above Laconia through the ring, before the red of the entities pop up. The season was only 6 episodes because the cost per episode was too high so Amazon requested fewer episodes.

Kale

"I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil"

Gail Ferguson

There is a neat little tidbit at Marcos's final moments -- after he yelled "Veer off!" he looked over and what he was staring at was Filip's empty chair. He knew his son had abandoned him. In the books, with the destruction of the first Mars ship by the Entities, I think it says that Admiral Sauveterre felt frozen in place, could feel another presence around him and was still thinking as he was taken apart. "Sauveterre did not notice his death." So Marco has a few moments to panic. A fitting end to a mass murderer who caused the same sort of deaths to billions.

For Spartan: Amos doesn't know how to use Bobbie's suit. He would be utterly useless in it without months of training.

Sheri

What a journey with you two! I loved your reactions and I'm so happy you loved The Expanse as much as we did! You will get all your protomolecule and Laconia answers in the books and hopefully in future seasons!

So glad you guys got to experience this amazing show. It's been so much fun watching it again with you two. Unfortunately, all good things must end.

Shawn Anomaly

Just a few neat things: Folks already pointed out Marco's final moments & Filip! The show started with an Ice Hauler and ended with an old Ice Hauler. The little trinket Clarissa remade for Amos was worn by him in the very 1st episode! Just another one of those awesome continuity of even the smallest details. Lastly, there's currently comic books made for the time in between S6 and Book 7 (hopefully one day S7). The first one that is complete is called, "Dragon Tooth" and the second one still being made (a few parts of it has released) is called, "A Little Death" Some nice surprises as well as appearances in both! Wes Chatam (Amos) is directly involved with them! "Dragon Tooth" gets into Laconia a little more which of course points at what's to come in Book 7! It has been a wonderful ride watching your journey. You two have been very fun to watch; I enjoyed your reaction! I only watch reactions to, "The Expanse"! Until we are gifted with S7 I say, "Oyedeng (Goodbye) Beltalowdas....Oyedeng!"

Shawn Anomaly

It is VERY unfortunate that S6 was cut short and not allowed to be a full at least 10 episode season. Such a powerful season definitely got robbed! Now we can only hope some day we get S7-S10. Surely somebody one day brings us the rest of the story in live action!

John Neiberger

That's one of the best episodes of TV ever, in my opinion. I'm so glad you watched this show. It was time for a re-watch. The Expanse sets the bar for scifi TV shows.

Michael

I love the easter egg names for all the drop ship crews!

I sincerely hope and believe that they will continue adapting the last 3 books as well. Given the time jump between Book 6 and 7, it actually makes sense to wait a bit, let the actors naturally age up... there are a few social media posts with all of them together. Seems they get along in real life, which makes negotiating a 3-season contract with them is highly realistic. + Spartan and Pudgey charm? Guaranteed now. Spartan and Clarissa confirmed shipped. Amos REJECTED, lol. My favorite quote of the whole show is easily from Clarissa, telling Holden "Don't ever feel bad about not killing someone". Second favorite, Naomi at the end there, telling Holden how the universe never tells us if our choices were right or wrong, layered over on-screen with Filip finally leaving his abusive narcissistic father in part from her words and actions. If she ever finds that out or not isn't the point. We should all strive to be as good as we can be, to be a Holden or Anna or Prax, no one's perfect, but just... try your best in all sincerity to be a good apple. Not for a pat on the head, but to satisfy your own soul's innate hunger for benevolence. DAMN the whole episode was on fire. But by far the most epic is Bobby and Amos slamming down to the central ring core, the whole continuous shot especially with Amos sitting on his rocket toilet lol. Unreal tension. But the single best moment of the show has to be Holden giving Avasarala a taste of her own trickster political medicine. It had to be done. Belters finally have a real voice and seat of authority within the Sol system and beyond. And all it took, not rocks thrown at high speed, but one man's motivation of room and board with little responsibility. Life didn't exactly work out as Holden intended. Then we wrap it all up with Naomi and Holden's final scene, Holden has the weight of the world as ever on his shoulders, but the universe rolls on as the Rocinante glides through its infinite wonders pulsing through on a soundtrack of paradoxically blissful melancholy. It's been a wonderful journey experiencing one of the best shows humanity has ever produced again with you guys! Also, side note, mentioned it before but given how much you loved The Expanse, I'd be extremely curious how you'd react to Star Trek or Stargate. They're older shows, but they have so much heart, character, and critical philosophical and moral gravitas. I consider them vital to the human condition.

Ryan

I remember wishing so bad for you guys to react to this show...and here we are at the end. I could rewatch this show so many times its just on another level. That music there at the end was so emotional...and just watching them drift off into space. Excited for Dexter! That'll be another long journey.

Gail Ferguson

Thanks for pointing those out! I came back this morning to do so! It was so great to notice some of those names when it first aired. I was actually doing another playthrough of the Mass Effect series and a marathon of Stargate SG1 at the time!

David Seeholzer

I found Spartan and Pudgey because of the Expanse and I have loved sharing your journey through every episode of this show. Watching you both "get" what it was all about was a joy. Now that I am here, I plan to stay and enjoy many more shows and movies with you.

Richiep

Are you guys going to watch the new game of thrones spin off show?

spartanandpudgey

wow thanks David! we are glad you're sticking around for more awesome adventures with us ❤️

Cinemaslave

If you guys are ever looking for another space sci-fi show to fill the void of The Expanse you definitely need to check out Battlestar Galactica.

RobChach

Thank for the uncut reaction! love the books and the TV show. I also recommend the Audible versions of the books, the narrator does a very good! I just recommend listening to it 20% faster! :)

Cody Taylor

I love the expanse. Its such a good show start to finish. Their isnt a quality drop the production only gets better actually. And the story is solid start to finish. Even ending 2/3s of the way through the books its a natural stopping point. the last 3rd does feel like the expanse got a new paint job

Trepanation21

The Marco thing is such a difficult and unsatisfying way of "ending" the season and the larger on-screen story, because while it *is* how it happens in the novels, there's still 3 more stories that regard the entire scope of things overall that the TV series wasn't (yet! 🥺?) able to manifest. While I don't want to give anything away, the way that Marco concludes here *is* the point of it, and reflecting on that isn't lost on our characters. Everybody wanted a piece of him, everybody wanted some kind of human justice for the inconsolable murder of *billions* throughout his campaign. My point is that it is meant to exemplify the "randomness" of its context - The factor that Naomi recognized, in which the gate transfers can "overload" and matter passing through it is removed from realspace transfer. Consider that the establishment of the Transport Union could be additionally taking on some form of logistical management of this new factor, allowing or disallowing travel based on quantifiable input/output through the gates, yknow? S6 clearly establishes the foundation of what's to come. The intro-scenes on Laconia are aspects both of a novella and the mainline story beats, as well as the Bonus Content scenes. They really, truly, lovingly did try to give us as much of The Expanse as they were able to!! It's just an unfortunately necessary and properly convenient stopping point (cough, I mean "PAUSING point") for the TV series. We all hope the final three books (and/or more, considering the numerous novellas) are able to be faithfully adapted, because they are simply stellar. THANK YOU TWO FOR SHARING THIS WITH US! I know us fans of the series have been delighted to see you connect with and love the series and characters as much as you have. Really looking forward to hearing about Spartan's experience of them, however that comes about. Read em, Spartan!

Amos was not in the same suit as Bobby. It was armored though. That's why he was wielding a rifle and not the arm cannon Bobby has. The show you guys need to check out next that is up Spartan's alley especially. Black Sails. Its perhaps the most underrated show of all time. With some of the most badass characters you can watch. Badassery. Strategy. Politics. Drama. The show has it all.. And is one of the most complete shows I've ever seen.

Etta Eskridge

At this moment, Pudgey (if she wanted) can read the novella Strange Dogs. I do like that you both immediately figured out that the events on Laconia are happening in real time with Admiral Duarte closing the Laconia ring to Marco. He has "Gods to kill". The Laconia story is absolutely fascinating and worth reading or listening to.

Etta Eskridge

It took me a few days because I really wanted to enjoy this epic episode with you. You mentioned Naomi's scream: it was unscripted, Dom felt it was appropriate in the moment. It surprised Steven Strait who was sitting next to her! But what a beautiful way for us to both feel joy at the defeat of Marco but ultimate sadness at Naomi thinking she lost her son. There were so many call backs in this episode: The meal in the galley with the family, when Clarissa falls down going to the reactor she cracks her face shield just as she did in S3 attacking Naomi, Bobbie firing missiles from the back pack of her suit just as she did the first time we met her in S2 on Mars. I really loved watching this show again with you! If you do Black Sails, that would be great, I need to see that show! Also Battle Star Galactica is a great show but I can't rate it as high as The Expanse. There is no definite commitment to Seasons 7-9 but with so many popular reactors watching this show, here's hoping we get our wish some day!

Tony Camas

I started writing some comments here back when this was first posted, but had some IRL stuff come up that took me away from it, so this is a bit late, but I wanted to mention a couple of things. First off, I was amused at Pudgey mentioning at the beginning that she had been apprehensive about this show at first because there was so much terminology and lore that she was afraid she might not be able to keep up with ... only to comment during Clarissa's scene trying to patch the reactor that the job was difficult enough "on the float," effortlessly using terminology unique to the show in a way I haven't heard many (if any) other reactors do. So it looks like you did way better than you thought you would, Pudgey. Not surprising. 😄 It isn't discussed often, but I think I have a different view of the final scene between Avasarala and Holden than most. The common wisdom is that she was blindsided by his maneuver to put Drummer in charge, that she was truly pissed at him, but that he won her over with his argument. In this view, her handshake was one of acceptance and resignation, but the smile was mostly "for the cameras," to present a united front and pretend that this was her plan all along. That's a perfectly valid view, but I believe otherwise. I believe that Avasarala, who plays 5-D chess and is always two steps ahead of everyone, knew full well that Holden would pull something like this, because it is just such a Holden thing to do. I think that she thought it was a good idea too, but knew that politically, she could never sell it. And so by giving the job to Holden, she had a pretty good inkling that Holden might somehow maneuver things such that Drummer got to be in charge, and she was OK with that, maybe it was even her preferred outcome. So, in my head canon, it's the *outrage* that's fake and for the cameras (and also so that Holden would think he outmaneuvered her), but the smile at the end was genuine, because things played out just as she thought they might. I know a lot of people disagree with me on this, but I think it's a much cooler explanation, and one that more closely aligns with the way Chrisjen has always operated. Sadly, I think people involved in the production, including Shohreh herself, may have confirmed at this point that I'm wrong and that the conventional wisdom is right. But I'm sticking to my story anyway. I'll die on that hill, regardless of what the others say. 😛 It's been a pleasure joining you two on this journey. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm glad you are already missing our characters as much as well are. Do check out the comics, and the remaining books (if not all of them). There's a LOT more content out there, and it's awesome.

Golladan

Although I disagree with trying to patch the reactor being difficult enough "on the float".

Robert

I think it's pretty universal that shows which have shortened final seasons are worse for it. They did an incredible job wrapping this up all the same, there is definitely closure. If you think about it the end of a film or series is never truly the end of everything, the characters will have more life to live and adventures to experience and the Roci disappearing into the stars illustrates that perfectly. If we get more seasons then fantastic, if not then I'm very comfortable with the beautiful ending that we got. It sounds like you are going to jump into the novels, but If you are looking for more Expanse content in a different medium there is a narrative heavy computer game by Telltale Games that follows Camina (prequel). There is also an upcoming RPG, Osiris Reborn by Owlcat which looks to be set in parallel to the first season. Regardless, congrats on making it to the end of the best sci fi series of all time. I've really enjoyed (re)watching along with you and hope to see more sci fi shows in your future. Firefly should be on the list (it's short :() and I think you would love older shows like Fringe or Stargate which have 20 episode seasons and room for fleshed out character development.

Hiigara

glad you guys finally watched this. spartacus up next? :D
