just to clarify, most of the hosts are still just playing out their narratives, except they never really get this far so things are getting a little wonky. Only a handful of the hosts have solved the maze and had an awakening like Dolores has. Maeve being another, Teddy is getting there, as is Hector. But yea most of them are still is story mode, it’s just that there is no editor watching them and resetting the day so they are either confused or have just turned violent, or are just playing out what their characters would do in these hectic situations. Like Arnold said in s1, when the hosts start to become conscious, they either solve it and obtain personhood, or they go mad and spiral into chaos.
