BAHHHHHHHHH (GOAT NOISES)

Love the shared insight you guys had on the post discussion. I think you definitely got that right on Ricks character and the comparison with Shane's ; its very easy to miss the mark in this world. I was confused as to why Rick got belted by michonne when i first watched, now im seeing this again, Michonne was justified in doing that - Deanna's grief and emotions about the group are still fresh, if he didnt stop, she mightve thrown them out 😂

Mark Laniel

Governor said "you either Kill or you die....or you die and you kill"....tbh though you cant say deanna would be wrong to be mistrustful....Carol for example has murdered and burned 2 people alive because she didnt consider them part of her group. I still cant believe Tyreese didnt kill her for that but thats the plot...this group has from time to time proven they put themselves above any others. Some like Glen, always try and help others. Cant say that for the entire group though.

Korivex

I liked Shane too but he wasn't really 'further ahead' because he was willing to leave people behind and do things, like kill Otis... Rick might look like he lost it but Shane actually did loose it. Rick has had good people that he respected around to help him stay grounded... like Herschel.... Shane, while he really was a descent guy, couldn't handle things, he didn't have the support.

Korivex

The Governor said... "You kill or you die.... or you die then you kill". Yes, the gun that Nicholas has is the one Rick put in the blender... we know because of the 'J' on it.

Fun fact: in shooting that last scene, in one of the takes Michonne actually hit Rick on set, by accident of course… and that’s the take they used

Jacob Sparks

God it’s perfect he quotes Shane and then he says the iconic line we are the ones who live it’s peak bro 😂😂 letssss goooooo

WE'RE THE ONES WHO LIVE! Yeah, I think there is a balance to be had between Rick's view and Deanna's. Rick is EXTREMELY jaded. He came into Alexandria ready to take it. But Darryl, Michonne, Carl, and Glen have all told Rick that they are THEM now, they live there, they are residents of Alexandria. He's on the right track, they need to be ready to fight for their lives and to LIVE, not just survive, but this community is a new terrain so a new approach must form.

This was another great reaction from you guys! Although, I don't know why Pudgey was still trying to advocate for Nicolas lolol.. I could almost get where ya'll were coming from in the last episode, but that was before it was revealed that they were the reason their last crew died. After that, I feel no sympathy or empathy for Aiden or Nicolas. I think the point that this episode and the last one are trying to make is that the real issue isn’t fear itself, but the danger of cowardly actions/people. Nicolas and Aiden had no business being outside the walls in the first place. They didn’t just make a few mistakes—they chose self-preservation over (not just strangers or acquaintances, but) their own FRIENDS’ lives and continued to lead another crew back out there. They could arguably be considered more dangerous than the villains we have encountered in the series so far. At least with the Governor and the people from Terminus, their threat became clear. Cowardly people are unpredictable, and their panic-driven decisions can ultimately kill the very people that depend on them to have their back.

Exactly. Shane was only worried about himself, Lori and Carl. Rick worries about THE WHOLE GROUP.

Andrew R

Shane attacked those closest to him. At least the people Rick attacks A) deserve it, B) aren't his own inner circle. Only these two would find any way to take the iconic Murder Rick and give the credit to Shane 😆. Of the 10+ other reactions I've seen to TWD, only this channel hasn't forgotten Shane by season 3 or 4 at the latest. I don't really understand why such a minor character keeps getting mentioned.

Andrew R

And really he mostly cared about Lori. Carl was just another way of getting to Lori.

JonSnow21

Shane is a goated character and while he’s arguably my second favourite character behind Rick , they’re completely different, they look similar in that speech I agree, but we have to acknowledge that Shane genuinely went insane and would sacrifice every member of the group besides Lori and Carl while Rick looks out for everyone in the group, that’s an important difference. Shane looks like he was ahead of the curve and in some ways he was but the truth is he was losing his mind slowly from the start and was ready to sacrifice people from the first season, meanwhile Rick in s5 still won’t sacrifice anyone in his group.

Dirk Diggler

Carol's change from mousey battered woman to warrior bad ass is kind of odd. I mean, if she had that in her, why would she have taken the shit from her husband? I get it, you lose the source of your oppression and you can grow and change, but that is a bit extreme. then again, I am worried about personality arcs in a show about zombies so really I am the douchebag.

Dirk Diggler

I am pretty sure they just keep the Shane stuff up at this point for engagement.

They are trolls. That’s what i tell myself. While im sure they really did like him, They know a lot of people don’t care for Shane so they mention him on purpose. I’ve never seen any other reactors bring that man up after season 3 (every blue moon, yes but not every episode) even while watching myself while it was on I hardly ever thought of him but we had literal years. They are breezing though.

Victoria E (vickster5001)

Why would she have taken shit from her husband? That's not how domestic abuse works. She been physically and mentally terrorised for years and had a daughter to protect too. Carol evolving into a bad ass over time after that scumbag is out of her life and she doesn't have someone demeaning her and making her believe she is worthless is very believable.

😅 been waiting to drop this fun fact for Spartan ~ ✨️ Rick's Speech Parallel: Rick Grimes' intense speech to the people of Alexandria after his fight with Pete, where he tells them they "need to fight for it," is almost a verbatim repeat of a speech Shane Walsh gave to the group in Season 2, Episode 7 ("Pretty Much Dead Already"), highlighting how Rick has potentially adopted Shane's more brutal philosophy for survival. ✨️ however, upon several rewatches even only speaking up until this point, they are still vastly different obviously but lol out of all the times to compare - this is the shows definition of "this is the time to make that comparison" if even only for a moment Michonne's Intervention: This episode features a key parallel to a prior conflict. Michonne knocks Rick out cold to stop his outburst, a reversal of the fight between Rick and The Governor where Michonne also intervened, but that time to save Rick. Symbolism of the Broken Window: The episode subtly references the "Broken Window Theory"—the idea that visible signs of crime and disorder lead to further crime and disorder—when Rick alludes to keeping the windows intact to keep society intact. The fight with Pete ends with Rick being thrown through a window. Sasha's Rifle Goof: A minor continuity error occurs during Sasha's walker-hunting montage. She fires at least 50 shots from her rifle without reloading, despite the fact that the magazine her specific type of rifle holds typically only contains 30 rounds. Comic Character Sasha: The character of Sasha Williams does not appear in The Walking Dead comics; the role was created specifically for the TV series after actress Sonequa Martin-Green's strong audition for the role of Michonne.

Its potentially partly a troll, but they both just really enjoy highly masculine characters...even unhinged ones. I myself do too. They don't just do it with this show either btw. They got alot of shit for liking Billy in Stranger Things too...again someone who I also really enjoyed. Alot of people, especially on the internet, kinda act as a hivemind when it comes to liking and hating certain people. I really respect S&P because they don't do that. They like who they like...and it tends to line up with who I like/dislike. The only time Spartan has let me down there is siding with Team Black in HOTD. I thought for sure he would be Team Green. but yeah, again, they definitely partly bring it up so often to mess with people who are so passionate about hating Shane lmao.

Ryan

What happened with Otis was unfortunate...but the dude was obese was could barely walk anymore bc he was out of breathe. Shane had a hurt ankle and was limping and they were both down to their last bullet. He also shot Carl, accidentally, but Shane had resentment there bc thats just who Shane is. I think alot of guys would have that to the person who shot their son, or in Shanes case, potentially future stepson...especially while Carl is fighting for his life. Shane did some mental math and realized either they both die, or he sacrifices Otis and Shane gets to get the supplies back to Carl to save his life. Its debatable if Shane actually cares about Carl like a son or if he just wants to get with Lori...but most of us would do anything to save our kids. So therefore, what Shane did would be justified for many of people. So its interesting to me so many people on the internet hate Shane for that. It was an awful situation, but potentially necessary like I mentioned. If they both die, then Carl also dies. Lastly, lets be honest, Otis wouldn't have lasted long in this world and Shane knew that.

JDM

I love the character of shane and im glad they like him and aren't afraid of talking about him...most fan favorites from tv shows especially in this genre are people that we wouldnt like in real life but love in a tv show, im sure we will get a character like that in the future of the walking dead

Kay Renee’

I don’t like Shane but he is an iconic character and definitely was a factor in what made the show at that time. Two things can be true.

Anaya Imari

“Taken shit from her husband” What a disgusting thing to say about a woman facing domestic violence. That is NOT how that works!
