Hey S&P Fam,As a result of the recent channel strike given to us by Netflix for Stranger Things Season 5, we have now learned that a channel strike seems to significantly effect channel visibility bringing our viewership down by around 40% across all videos. this is pretty devastating that one company chosing to strike us after weve never had an issue with them before can significantly impact our channel to this extent. if you want to ensure you're seeing our content please make sure you are subscribed and turn that notification bell on. If you enjoy our reactions remember to hit that like and leave a comment to help the algorithm push our videos back out. (this will be relevant more so if you happen to watch any of our YouTube content as well)We are trying to see if we can appeal this strike but until then our videos are going to be getting suppressed in the algorithm. What a sweet Christmas treat Netflix has given us.

We appreciate you all during this time! especially our generous patreons whom without, would make this period a lot more devastating and financially crippling. Much love to you all we hope you are having a wonderful holiday season

what a shame to get it on stranger things season 5 because its been terrible too so like for what, you guys deserve better

Slow Shadow

That actually makes me so angry. I am so sorry guys 😔 I do hope you had a nice Christmas overal ♥️

Nathan Jasper

What a bunch of jagweeds. I'm sorry you're having to deal with that.

Simone's Coconut Squire

It seems like Netflix is going nuclear over Stranger Things. Seen it hit other reactors too.

HyRax

Probably has to do with all the classic rock songs.

Chase

I’m so sorry 😞 that has happened to y’all

Lindsay Mathieson

Well shit, I'm sorry that has happened. Youtube is way to arbitrary in its algorithms. Probably all done by AI to.

DRIP DROP

This is why dexter and twd will always win

Cr7goat

Fuck stranger things for that

Hans Engelen

My suggestion ... Go with streamable dot com (or similar), at least for the tricky ones.

Lyn Hurst

Been watching your videos on YouTube and here off and on this past week. I admit I haven't commented as much recently. Will make sure I do. I hope this is straightened out soon.

Shelby

We will be your fans regardless! The cream rises to the top. I’ve heard this is a problem for a lot of creators, especially for shows currently airing. I don’t mean to be dismissive as I know this affects your income — but please don’t let this get you down! I discover a lot of reactors “after the fact.” You guys are (objectively) one of the top reactors on the platform. You will still get the views, they just might take a little longer to come in. Hang in there, and keep on keeping on. You guys are lovely and the numbers will eventually settle and reflect that. Merry Christmas S&P! 🫶🏼

Kai West

Well Netflix technically, they’re the ones who would have it copyrighted and owned.

Kai West

Sorry to hear this, such a shame. Glad we can all support you on here though. Hopefully it will get resolved soon!

JonSnow21

Netflix is so pathetic bro, they have done this too so many channels, not just you guys. Don’t they get that people who watch reactions have already seen it on their platform so it makes literally no sense to copyright.

Cr7goat

Sure but s5 is cheeks and not worth this hassle

SpXek

Yup a channel strike will usually mean your videos will stop being recommended in the home page. People have to directly go to your channel. But it is not permanent luckily, a month or two you should be back to normal.

ShanB

Sorry guys Netflix is ran by some greedy son of a whores! As if they’re losing money from reactions while they’re buying other huge networks and raising their monthly rates while also cracking down on account sharing. Gross.

Abby

Some reactors have shows that are Only on Patreon for this very reason. :(

Christian

sorry to hear that

Kai West

I’m really liking s5 tbf but agreed it shouldn’t be this hard😢

LisaC65

merry christmas happy new year from australia

cojiiii

Heard they hit a lot of creators with this simultaneously with intention. Hang in there

Michael Short

every reaction channel gets a strike at some point. it's just the nature of how they are. and sadly, it's common for some channels to get away with something only for another channel not to. It sucks though, from what i've seen of your youtube videos you're pretty careful about this kind of thing. Merry Christmas to both of you. :)

Michael Short

Yep... :( Sadly the bigger a company gets the greedier it tends to get. :/

Lyn Hurst

If Netflix deal to take over HBO/Max and WB, Paramount, they will all be the same. I hope it doesn't because can you say "monopoly."

MacheteGirlMagazine

YouTube/ Netflix can go eat a bag of dicks. As long as you post good sci-fi, i'll be along for the ride.

Tommy

Think its AI messing up because a lot of other reactors are having issues with this season of Stranger Things. One even said, they copyright struck his entire video including his intro of just himself & outro reviewing the episode. Weird. Its gotta be some stupid AI false strike.

Winny

Its the game bro, u make money with someone else work so....its the game 💁‍♂️

Stefan Klement

People don't watch these videos as an alternative to paying for Netflix, they watch them for the reaction. So, the part that makes S&P money is their own work. Netflix loses nothing. On the contrary, when a lot of reaction videos pop up on Youtube for a show, that's free advertisement.

Cindy Beach

Appeal for sure. I’m seeing this for almost every channel I follow. But the re-edit was accepted and the strike removed. I know it’s extra work, but could be worth it in the end. It seems to be this show in particular. You are not alone.

dolo

They don't use audio and they cut the screen man. They absolutely do not use the content. So what are u talking about.

Joan Monroe

People absolutely watch the cut down vids on YT - for free with ads - for the shared first watch experience of a show. People with an abundance of disposable streaming service $$ may not be aware of that. NOTE: This is not a complaint about or critique of S&P.

Joan Monroe

YT doesn't honor fair use. It starts there. All of our corporate overlords are indulging in a greedy overreach growth spurt. Edit: It's doubly stupid for Netflix because people are starting to buy physical media again and they don't release their shows that way. (I would have bought Sense8, Queen's Gambit, One Piece...the list goes on.)

Joan Monroe

Don't forget the introduction of ads. This is why we can't have nice things.

Joan Monroe

The AI situation on YT is so bad. My yearend recap says my top interest is basketball reactions after I spent a few hours watching Pistol Pete and Larry Bird highlight video reactions. My extensive time spent watching music, movie and tv reactions didn't factor in!

Tommy

Yeah, its so trash.

Bartleby

Netflix has been strike happy with anyone showing anything Netflix. Maybe just one of those things you need to make Patreon exclusives

Lux Omnia Vincit

It’s all good, guys. As long as Vecna stays away from the cottage, I couldn’t care less about Stranger Things. 😂

Tom Riddle

Netflix is a dying platform and has been for years, it’s funny that they’re the streaming equivalent of blockbuster now since they killed them off themselves.

Gypsysoul

Netflix is opening theme parks, they ain't going anywhere anytime soon. [Unfortunately ¿]

Felix Hayoz

I cancelled all my subscriptions with Netflix and co and only stream "illegally".

Harry

Will we still be getting the uncut version on here soon? I’m anxiously waiting haha but I get how horrible this is to have to deal with and wish you guys the best of luck with dealing with this 💕

Alex

It actually makes films/tv series more money. We sign up to streaming platforms, rent/buy films to watch with Spartan & Pudgey. They should be grateful that reactors are getting the production company's content viewed 2/3/4 times more than usual

Tyler Janes

That sucks that Netflix did that! I see so many reaction videos on YouTube for Season 5! If you can, can you explain why Netflix won’t let you? Hope it all gets figured out soon! 😁
