Warsame

I was just going to the gym but fuck that i gotta Watch this 🤩

Lizabee

This movie lowkey traumatized me as a kid because I knew what he’d become and it was brutal watching it and wishing it somehow would end differently. Also.. Hayden Christensen is a beautiful man and a wonderful actor! Yall need to watch the Obi Wan Series where he’s still struggling with how he failed Anakin.

Demented Avenger

I was going to say, please don't watch Rogue One before the original trilogy. But I'm too late. It's like watching Better Call Saul before Breaking Bad.

Mr Johnstone.

then after the OG trilogy Mando and Ashoka :D

Steinar0111

Same, I literally couldn't watch the order 66 section for years after seeing it the first time as a kid. I always had to leave the room. Signs of a terrific movie no

Ben

I hate to be that guy, but you know the words 'verse' and 'versus' are not at all the same word, right? I have too many English teachers in my fam, I can't help myself, sorry. Fun reaction!

No Tap

The best Star Wars movie ever made. Sue me if you disagree.

Tobias Koehler

now i cant wait for them to see the obi wan show so we can see hayden back in that costume

Jango's unaltered clone was Boba, the boy. They showed him also immediately after Lana Su said that line. He only requested the one clone. Dooku's Sith name was Darth Tyrannus which was mentioned i believe at the end of Episode 2 very briefly when he met with Sidious. Also I'm glad Spartan immediately clocked that talisman that she was holding on to in the funeral, the one Anakin made for her when they first met. It's kind of one last detail to twist the knife after the last 30 minutes just totally wreck you. I saw this in Hollywood on opening weekend and the entire end of the movie was an unforgettable experience. You could feel the tension boiling over throughout the theater when Anakin and Obi-wan start throwing off their cloaks and yelling at each other. The Duel of the Fates song in the background was absolutely epic. I'm not sure if this is canon but basically they never confirmed it that i know of. Sidious learned from Plagueis how to create life, or, either he or Plagueis literally created Anakin in order to serve their motives. It's implied. Remember how he was immaculately conceived and had no father. Y'all called it in the first movie about Palpatine being Sidious, so, his entire life Anakin was just a pawn for Sidious. Although it does seem random that Qui-gon etc. accidentally ended up on Tatooine to meet Anakin. Sidious put those visions in his head of Pad-me dying in order to trick him into the self-fulfilling prophecy. Like you said, had Anakin not been obsessed with doing something about it, nothing would have gone wrong. You should watch the Obi-wan series. Eventually there is a pay off in that show with yet another scene that will play with your feeings.

Alex Thrailkill

Just dropped everything to watch this lmfao

Jonathanese

Had to watch right away. It's unreal seeing people experience it chronologically. You're definitely having a unique first-time experience that few people had. You'll miss a few things or be very confused by others. But it's cool to see what things stand out or turn into plot twists. Like how you didn't realize until late in this movie that you were watching the Darth Vader origin story. That's something most viewers knew going into EP1, so it loomed over the entire prequel trilogy. It was refreshing to see people watch the prequel trilogy without baggage. Just seeing little Anakin for the sweet little boy he was, and not "ok when does he get the mask". Also, totally agreed that Anakin's turn seemed WAY too sudden. "Oops. Guy died. Guess I'm a sith now." In Clone Wars, Dave Filoni (Who also worked on Avatar: TLA) fleshed out the stuff building up to it a lot more. There was a lot more going on. Lots of cracks in the Jedi order. Stuff Count Dooku talked about in EP2, which suddenly makes him sound quite reasonable. Both Anakin and Count Dooku needed Qui-Gon's "outside-the-dogma" thinking that connected him more deeply to the force. As others have mentioned, this is why the music for Maul vs Qui-Gon is "Dual of the Fates". Qui-Gon's death ultimately set the stage for all of this. I'm excited about whatever direction you take for the next movies, if you go through the intermediate movies, or jump straight to EP 4. Though you might want at least Rogue One. And if you do Rogue One, do EP4 right after. A couple sets of quotes. 1. "He could influence the midichlorians to create....life". *Looks at Anakin* EP1: "There was no father" 2. "How is Anakin still alive?" "He could keep the ones he cares about from dying" "For reasons we can't explain, we are losing her"

Alex Thrailkill

I had seen all of the Star Wars movies before this came out and I really wanted to go to the theater to watch it, but I was only like 6 years old so my parents weren’t sure if I could handle the content lol. Last year, for the 20th anniversary rerelease, I finally got to see it on the big screen. That opening flight sequence was AMAZING.

Ant Ares

Yo pudgy fix your eye brows

Stripping Poets

For the love of all that is nerdy and holy, please watch clone wars XD you don’t even have to do reactions, and you can skip fluff episodes if you want, but finish the whole series!! It is kinda cool experiencing the order this way. Kinda like how you guys did HOTD before Thrones and that was pretty cool to see. I am staring to see why people didn’t want you to do chronological but whatever

Mitchel

Now imagine if Qui-gon lived and was there for Anakin during episode 2 and 3. Which is why the song played during the Darth Maul fight in episode 1 is called Dual of the Fates (Anakin's fate)

lazerbrain8d4

To quote Spartan "this movie...2000's. Other movies 1970's". That might be the funniest thing he's ever said.

Mitchel

Its not so much that you wont get value from watching it in chronological order. But you've been spoiled on the OT And the best thing about them are the plot twists. They were made in the 70s/80s. So everything is 50 years out of date, the graphics, the fights, the choronography, and the story is...smaller.

Colton

I really hope they watch it.

Colton

6 year old me watching this in theaters agrees. haha

Juussi

You should watch the Obi Wan Kenobi mini series before or after the OG trilogy. It is placed after this movie and before the OG trilogy.

Corey

The people that raise Luke aren't blood relatives of Anakin. They are step-siblings not half-siblings

Sentient Inuit

"all hope is lost" oh my sweet summer child

Kai

Really great reaction! It’s pretty priceless to have reactors be so genuinely blind to such a big franchise, it’s really great! 🫶🏼 Anakin’s story in this trilogy is so tragic and it’s heartbreaking to watch his descent, but I love the storytelling that honors the complexity of human beings and how our emotions shape us.

Holly

The one thing I really like about this series is that it's esoteric and spiritual. The Jedi training is a spiritual one. The power of now. Sensing the force. The light side of the force. Dark emotions leading you to the dark side. Good stuff.

Holly

S&P meeting the Wookies. :-)

Yuni

I'm really looking forward to your reaction to the Original Trilogy. Episode 4 was the very first Star Wars ever made, all the way back in 1977, with a lot of later concepts and story points not yet present. The original Star Wars Trilogy is often agreed to be the best Star Wars content and some of the best movies ever made. However, the effects, choreography, etc., will be a bit dated, and many aspects of the Prequels simply were not possible to do back in the 70s - but the story and the characters more than make up for it. I'd say, as you watch them, to remember how old the movies are, and that'll help you to appreciate how groundbreaking and revolutionary the effects are for the time. The Original Star Wars Trilogy is by far my personal favourite Star Wars. Also, Luke Skywalker is the GOAT.

Chase

If that series didn’t completely suck I’d agree. Rogue One is the only thing they should watch in between IMO

Ant Ares

Mb the right one just looked higher up lol

Kata Baggin

Either way you'd be spoiled on things, both chronological and release order will spoil things for the alternative experience, for example Anakin being Vader would be spoiled by the OT if you're watching in release, but because most the world saw these movies in release order that's technically the "official" way to experience the story but not necessarily the correct way, it's a preference. But yeah the original trilogies "twists" will fall flat because they now know things that even the writers themselves hadn't fully considered in the 70's.

J Lawrence

Highly recommend the Clone Wars (2003) from Tartovsky as an aside. It will give you a lot more insight into Anakin's fall and how Jedi lightsabers are made. Plus you get Windu going absolute super sayan

Brandon

I’d love to see a future poll for the crew to watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In my opinion, the best Star Wars project ever made. It adds so much depth to the universe—especially Anakin’s character—and turns the clones into some of the most compelling figures in the entire saga. I genuinely think it would be right up Spartan’s alley. It’s got incredible character arcs, intense war battles, and some of the most impactful storytelling in Star Wars — spread across 8 fantastic animated seasons. I call it the Band of Brothers of Star Wars, told through the perspective of Anakin and his clones.

Alex Thrailkill

Hey S&P, I’m sure I’m forgetting an answer you’ve already given but what is your watch order? Will you be checking out Rogue One before Ep. IV? It’s interesting seeing reactors go for a “prequel first” watch, and adding in Rogue One before Ep. IV would be pretty cool!

Griff

That show doesnt get enough views for the channel. They wont do it

Jonathanese

And why Grievous coughs and runs away all the time. Because the cough was caused, and the running away was actually a suggestion by Dooku.

Tray Hard

30:53 "mhe mhe ehmm now?" LMAO

Tray Hard

Ironically Anaking literally fulfilled the prophecy - "to balance the Force". Before him - tons of Jedi and only 3 siths (Sidius, Maul, Dooku). After him - 2 Jedi (Yoda, Obiwan) and 2 Siths (Sidius, Vader). He literally brought the balance to the Force.

Picasso

I understand you guys are watching in chronological order but now that takes away from the surprises you'll get when watching episodes 4,5, and 6. by watching these ones first it takes away from the reveals the next trilogy has because they were actually made first. like for example you're not supposed to know that Luke n Leah are siblings until they reveal it in the 4,5,6, trilogy but since you guys watched these ones first it kind of spoils it and takes away the surprise. there's a few other surprises but it doesn't matter because you watched out of sequence lol

Mohammad Conte

You get to know more about windu in star wars the clone wars series

Holly

The actor who voices Darth Vader in the originals came back to do the voice at the end of this movie, so yes, it IS the same voice actor! 😄 Obviously a different person behind the mask.

Picasso

lol how do you figure? plus not to mention that Darth Vader is Luke's father but they wouldn't have known that if they would've watched 4,5,6 first. now they already know that. along with other hidden gems. or like when Luke is looking for Yoda and doesn't know it's him he thinks he's just talking to some little green creature but by watching these first it takes all that away.

Khepera Bowlin-Jones

Thats not at all what balance means. There were also way more than 2 Jedi, what are you talking about

Shy K

Great reaction. Hope you guys also watch the Obi Wan Kenobi mini series.

Chloe

Ooooo love the new background!!!

Jay Doe

Anakin brought balance two sith palpatine and Vader. Two Jedi yoda and kenobi

Crez0le

Could you watch the tales of the jedi animated show

Chris D

Still my favorite Star Wars movie

Tyler Clayton

I can't remember where I heard this but it's said that the Dark side is intoxicating. Once you embrace it, the power you obtain is like a drug once you taste it for the first time. And it's that much harder to let it go and come back to the light. It's like you become a drug addict. Always chasing a bigger and better high. So once Anakin gave in to it, each step further was like going on a drug bender. He went in searching for a way to save Padme but found a deep pit that continued to drag him further and further into the dark side.

Joseph Rosa

My personal opinion, I love Spartan and Pudgey I'm still bummed they watched it in this order, I feel like it extremely lessens the experience. Anakin's turn hits so much harder knowing who Darth Vader is

Eddie Boncek

Not sure if anyone addressed it, didnt read all the comments, but Spartans reactions to Anakin's 180° from turning Palpatine in to then joining him 10 minutes later is, I believe, he was still assuming that he could have it both ways, continue being a Jedi, but also having access to the knowledge needed to save Padme, and when he learned that Mace was going to execute Palpatine, any chance at saving Padme would be lost, so he had to make a decision, in the moment, based on emotions and not rational thought. Like he said over and over, HE can't live without her, so it's obvious he's willing to do ANYTHING to save her, even turn on the order. Plus, I think he also realizes that what he did, essentially killing a JEDI MASTER, or at the very least an accomplice, he was screwed anyway so aligning with Palpatine was, in that moment, his best option, all or nothing. I also don't believe that he truly fears the Jedi, or what consequences there might be for him. He's been raised being told how POWERFUL he is, how he will become the "Most powerful Jedi ever," how "Hes the Chosen One," so I believe he's not seriously taking defeat and punishment into his decision making, it really is just whoever can best help him save Padme is who he's siding with. Ironic bit is is that its a self-fulfilling prophecy, Padmes death, the more he does to try and "Save her," the more likely her death becomes. I too had that same, "Wait...WHAT?! JUST LIKE THAT" moment. But the more I try to put myself in Anakin's position, it feels a little less "WTF?!"

Travis Gray

The clone wars is a show about Anakin Obi-Wan Kenobi adventures in between episodes 2 &3 the clone wars it's an animated show but it's really good should check it iut

Travis Gray

So glad Ur watching it in chronological order I knew U guys would love it can't wait for episodes 4-6

Hiigara

Spartan was right on the money with all his point on the discussion. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

The Magician

The 6 episode Obi Wan series is set between Episode 3 and 4 (10 years after 3) and has the same actors for Obi Wan & Anakin/Vader. It covers the Qui Gon force return thing as well.

Travis Gray

3 years have passed between episodes 2 &3 this is called the clone wars...

Eddie Boncek

Yeah, it wasnt great, had a lot of, "Are you serious" moments, but its worth it, in my opinion, for the full "Obi-Wan-Anakin/Vader experience." Can't disagree with your comment though about the overall quality

JBA

maybe my favorite movie of all time

Kevin Pedranz

The tragic comic is that if anakin didnt do anything then nothing would happen to padme. It was him trying so hard to stop it that made it happen...

Nudeldifudel

I would wait with Solo until youve watched some shows, watching it now, especially after the original trilogy as well will not add anything and will just be confusing. So if you wanna watch Solo I would wait, because it kinda has a massive confusing spoiler for some of the Tv shows, so its just better to wait, the movie isnt that good anyways.

Nudeldifudel

I would just skip the sequels, but if you absolutely wanna watch them, just take them with a grain of salt, they really do more harm then good to Star wars as a story.

Ghostcat

her eye brows are fine, PO

TrustyChasr

Awesome to watch you guys react in this order. Fun fact: the actor who plays Bail Organa (who adopts baby Leia) is the same actor as Miguel Prado in Dexter 😁

Coffee Brainzz

Obi wan series was absolute GARBAGE 🗑️

Coffee Brainzz

The reason Obi wan told Anakin "Don't try it..." Before cutting off his arm and leg.... Is because it's the EXACT move he used to kill DARTH MAUL, so he knew exactly how to counter it... 😢

Coffee Brainzz

DARTH JAR JAR REACTION PLEASE 🫣💯
