Aaron

It's too bad you guys didn't watch Andor first. It doesn't really matter though, the majority of people didn't watch Andor first.

Alex Thrailkill

Is this gonna be one that gets to Spartan too?!?? Thumbnail is looking quite emotional😳

Miloš 🇷🇸

I only watched Andor once but would be nice to see it again with them. But Kenobi I watched 7 times lol

Jeddxh

Who else paid for their premium since they posted TPM to YT? Lmao🙋🏻‍♂️ super excited for y’all’s journey!

No Tap

Wait Jyn Erso is not going to be in episode 4? 🤯

Holly

You'll get more Saw Gerrera in Andor

Ricky

I disagree. Andor makes sense to watch first of course, but it's actually a bit jarring to go from Andor to Rogue one in terms of quality. Imo

Holly

It's crazy to see you guys seeing things that are iconic from the OG trilogy (eg. lightspeed, stormtroopers, the state of the world at that time, the weaponry available... ). Because you have a base knowledge but your minds are being blown bc you've not seen the OG yet. And yeah, when you see Darth Vader, you see Anakin. We had no such attachment. So fascinating watching this journey this way.

Aaron

I do agree with that. But I think knowing the fate of many characters of Andor, knowing they can't die, hurts it a little. Plus I think the deaths in this movie hit much harder after you follow their journey in the series. Definitely pros and cons to both I suppose.

lackingnames

Quality as in quality. Andor is the best star wars has to offer by far.

Miggiexrcf

lets gooooo, i was waiting for this! now I just gotta leave work and head straight home to watch!

Ludus Aurea

The blind guy is Donnie Yen. He played Ip Man in the Ip Man movies (Bruce Lees mentor) and brought that badassery to Rogue One. He's in plenty of other stuff too I'm sure. I'd like to say more about Chirrut Imwe but it would spoil Rebels season 3 and 4. This movie is like if Saving Private Ryan but Star Wars, and it was an extended opening of Episode 4. You'll see. The Darth Vader hallway scene was an EXPERIENCE in the theaters. It made it worth waiting outside in line for like an hour. This is easily the best Disney star wars movie to date. They made you like these characters and then they brutally just kill every single one of them, but not before most of them get their chance to be heroes. Plus the soundtrack, the visuals, the effects, are all top tier. Both Leia and Tarkin were CG - Carrie Fisher died a week after the film came out and Peter Cushing died long ago. It may not mean anything to you yet but when you watch the next movie you'll see how accurate the CG was A lot of the stuff in this movie in general won't be as identifiable until you see the originals but there are a ton of easter eggs and they even used spare footage from the original movie.

Sonicluis

You guys should watch. The clone wars.

Austin

Thought this was A New Hope for a sec when I got the notification, I got so excited 😭

Corbyn Dallas

Andor is the very best Star Wars show ever made you guys really need to watch it!! :)))

Reginald

Rogue one is one of the best Star Wars films.

Jonathanese

I was premium, then stopped when I slowed down on reaction channels. Then I got a notification about TPM and lost my shit.

Jonathanese

I agree it would be awesome to do in true, complete chronological fashion. But once you start involving the shows, it gets insane very quickly. Doing the movies works for me. Imagine if they included the animated shows. They would have 121 episodes of The Clone Wars to get through before they even watched Revenge of the Sith.

Luke Smith

I watched the OGs first but watching chronologically, i think, makes you take on so much of the hope and sacrifice going in to the originals that you really didnt feel before. I think you guys will really like the next 3 even more now than if you watched in release order.

EdReedFan20

Just so there's no bit of confusion when you watch Episode IV, Tarkin in Rogue One (the Imperial that took over command of the Death Star from Krennic) was a CG recreation of Peter Cushing (voiced by a soundalike). He is the actor that played Tarkin in Episode IV in 1977. He died in 1994, 22 years before Rogue One released. Out of curiosity, did you realize he was CG? I ask, because I think it was very well done, but when you know it's a recreation of someone who's been dead for decades, you know to look for the "seams" that show he's not real. But if you have no idea who he is/was, I wonder if that lack of pre-knowledge helps sell it.

Victoria E (vickster5001)

Admittedly I wasn't a kid during the original trilogy, but for me this is my favourite Star Wars film. The prequel trilogy is fine, but they never really moved me. Rogue One was the first one to really emotionally ground me in the world and the characters. I cared so much and the end still gets to me, which is has only been heightened after watching Andor, which is easily my favourite Star Wars content. I'm already excited for you to watch that when you get there!

Victoria E (vickster5001)

That hallway scene was the first time I truly felt scared of Darth Vadar. It's so well done.

Victoria E (vickster5001)

I'm not so sure, as I think Andor as a show has an additional emotional weight because we know where it's heading in the end.

Annabella_Larue

This movie did something that the original films never FULLY managed to do; show just how desperate the Rebellion's struggle against the Empire is.

Piotr Jackiewicz

i would highlt suggest watching obi wan short series, as it is also between 3rd and 4th movie, before the rogue one - but idk if you guys are doing short series as well

Chloe

It’s so interesting how your approach to Star Wars is so similar to your approach to HOTD/GOT where you’re approaching it from an opposite way than most people have and it provides an interesting watch and a twist on the reactions!

spartanandpudgey

we will do some series but after we finish thw movies first

spartanandpudgey

no we didn't not realise he was CG, it was really well done!

EdReedFan20

It really was. I think many that trashed it were cursed with the pre-knowledge that he was a digital recreation of a long deceased actor. Despite knowing that going in, I was still thoroughly impressed with the effect.

Joseph Barnes

lots of the younger star wars fans experienced it in chronological order. I remember the first time watching the phantom menace as a kid, it got me into the entire star wars universe

Chloe

That’s true!

Devon

Spartan said it perfectly in the post discussion, this filled in all the gaps for fans to see the effort, sacrifice and heroism going into to just getting these plans in the rebels hands.

Kata Baggin

Growing up I started Star Wars with Revenge of the Sith because we didn't have the other movies on DVD but we had Revenge, later I watched the others and much later I watched the original trilogy.

Chloe

How did you like that experience? (Without spoilers lol)

Miloš 🇷🇸

Spartan crying face in the thumbnail 🤣🤣👌🏻

Velcon

i can't wait for you guys to get to andor, imo best star wars content both movie wise and serie wise, its actually one of my favorite tv shows even outside of star wars. Also i really hope you guys are not watching the new sequel episode 7-9 ... star wars ended after episode 6 (the og star wars movies). The new star wars is just not it ... and completely unrelated to everything else

Eddie Boncek

(Spartan) "Oh, I like this guy, hope we don't lose him." Yeah...fingers crossed! 🤞👀

Ammaar Ahmed

Don’t spoil things like this !!

Holly

Not sure how that's a spoiler. They knew Andor is a prequel to Rogue One and Spartan said he wants to know more about him. They plan to watch Andor.

Holly

The guy who plays Krennic is an Australian actor. I'm wondering if you recognize him. He's been in a lot of films and is pretty great. Also, Mads Mikkelsen plays Jyn's dad. He's INCREDIBLE (and beautiful)! I'd watch out for his films too if I were you.

Kab

Holy shit Rogue One hits different in chronological order!

Travis Gray

How long til U react to Episode 4 A New Hope

K

Release Friday

Andre Bauer

Agreed! Andor is the most mature Star Wars and some of the best TV ever! And the sequels are an abomination.

Andre Bauer

Start with Andor tho, it's by far the superior Star Wars show. Then Mandalorian. Obi Wan is controversial and does IMO not portrait the main characters faithfully (Obi Wan + Anakin)

VII DEAD

You need to watch obi-wan while Luke and Leah are kids and gives a bit more closure on obi

Kata Baggin

I watched everything years apart so it's not much of an experience, I watched Revenge when I was like 6 or 7, later I watched Attack and Phantom Menace when I was like 10, then when I was like 15 I watched everything in release order starting with the OT.

nsavz11

PLEASE WATCH ANDOR ASWELL one of the best shows of all time and the best piece of star wars ever

Kai

I really liked this movie as a stand alone story when I first saw it (even more so after watching ‘Andor’). But I was SO pissed once I realized everyone was going to be sacrificed at the end of this movie. I love and appreciate its beauty and realism in terms of a storytelling perspective, but it was just so fucking sad.

Montae Williams

Watching episode 4 as a child and not having any context, I was both scared and invigorated by Darth Vader. He was cool. And you didn’t want to be on his team - but you did kinda want to be him lol

Miloš 🇷🇸

I haven’t followed them since their GoT days once I saw Star Wars post I lost my shit too.

Miloš 🇷🇸

Because I loved the scenes with Kenobi and Vader
