I believe the reason why we don't see a relationship between Laya and Rey, it's because carrie fisher passed away and what you see in the movie is cgi

No Tap

I thought this was the best of the 3 when I left the theatres on opening weekend

Ricky

Spartan's face in that thumbnail is hilarious 😂

LSafe4HouseD

“Turned Chewie into KFC” KFC = Kentucky Fried Chewie 🤣

Holly

It's funny you guys think this is cheesy but didn't make any comment during the OG 4-6 episodes. I find what's so hard to stomach in those movies is how they cheesy the acting and script is. It's more adventure film than anything. I found it very lightweight. Very little of the weighty stuff had impact on the characters (like when Leia's home planet, which had her dad on it, got destroyed she lets a little yelp out but that's it. Next scene she's being chummy and ironic.). I totally agree with the cheesy factor here and you had to suspend a LOT of disbelief in the Disney movies (hacking the force is a great way to put it). But that's also just what I find in a lot of the MCU movies too, which is why I don't like them.

Holly

Watching this with you guys reminded me just how bad this film was, my goodness. And I appreciated it the first time around because of the deep nostalgia too. The passage of time hasn't actually helped me to think more favorably on it! For me the best part of this was the nostalgia of our OG characters and Kylo Ren. Adam Driver is just so good. And yes, Spartan. Andor is beloved. For folks like me, in particular, who don't love Star Wars, it's just next level because it doesn't feel hokey/cheesy at all. I think it's just excellent television.

The second time I've seen this abomination since opening weekend, here we go lmao

Alex Pearson

"And somehow Palpetine returned" is an actual quote in the movie by Poe and how we all felt when they brought him back lmao

Miloš 🇷🇸

Spartans face in the thumbnail 🤣🤣 only reason I love this movie is because of Ian-Palpatine actor. Wish we had more of him

Miloš 🇷🇸

I saw it in theaters too and when Palpatine absorbs Rey and Ben’s force and blasts the lighting into the sky-insane bass sound in the theatre, I loved it.

Joe Torres

rey is the daughter of a clone of palpatine. Her dad broke free and wasnt what palpatine wanted

No Tap

I was young and dumb

EdReedFan20

R2-D2 was present for the birth and death of Leia. 😭 Throughout the movie, Finn was trying to tell Rey that he is force sensitive, which would explain why he held his own against Kylo Ren in Episode VII when Finn fought him with the lightsaber. He actually got some hits in.

TrustyChasr

“I think they’ve broken the force with this movie” is a good way to put it. Such a disaster. Great reaction to what is one of my least favorite films ever.

EdReedFan20

Adam Driver and director Steven Soderbergh (director of the Oceans 11 trilogy and other movies) wanted to make a movie called The Hunt for Ben Solo, which would've somehow been post IX (if Palpatine could come back, why not Ben?). LucasFilm loved it, Adam and Steven were enthusiastic, but the Disney executives said no, stating they couldn't see how he could be brought back to life. Fans have been pushing for them to change their mind. Disney has gotten a new CEO since then, so fingers crossed?

Coffee Brainzz

It bothered me SOOOOOOO much when she called herself Skywalker at the end ooohh that pissed me off!!! 🤣🤣 Its stupid on multiple layers!! Because get this, I theorized that she became pregnant when Kylo forced healed her with his life essence (on her stomach too) so he gave her life and a baby life.... Lame but okay.... Guess What..... THAT BABY STILL WOULD NOT BE NAMED SKYWALKER!! IT WOULD BE NAMED SOLO!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's how ret@rded these writers are... Not only that but the disrespect!!! Imagine your greatest nemesis, the man who turned your father and the whole universe into hell, Palpatine, has a kid and kid parades around the universe using your family name because she felt entitled to it 😮‍💨 Disney... "The Force Is Female!!!🤪"

Ricky

This movie is so dumb 😂 please, when you watch Andor. Completely forget about these movies and focus on the prequels and the originals. This movies are just so tone deaf and out of place honestly

Mason Hunt

I think you guys should watch the Obi wan show next instead of Andor. Yes andor has much better reviews and is more liked overall but it definitely doesn't connect with the movies as much as the obi wan show does. Andor may be interesting for you guys since you watched rogue one, but I think you will enjoy Obi wan more to be honest

Alex Thrailkill

I’ve seen clips from this one before, but this will be the most I’ve watched. Very interested to hear your takes, especially since you didn’t dislike Ep. VIII (I haven’t been to the theater for SW since then because I was so disappointed with how they treated Luke)

Mr Johnstone.

well atleast we cant get any lower than these movies lets be honest, well unless we touch on The Acolyte, please god say were not watching The Acolyte 😂 Couple of things I dislikes about these 3 movies Edit - it's Starwars so there is something I like about these movies 😂 - At the begining of the movies Rey has 0 knowledge of the Force 0 she also has minimal fighting experience except against half starved scrappers by the end of the movie shes going toe to toe with a fully trained Sith Lord not only trained by Luke Skywalker but also Snoke himself and almost beat him, im sorry what... to me her "power" felt very forced and sudden -Finn and Rey have a love intrest connection thingy going on then by movie 2 its a complete revert she sees Kylo without a shirt on and is like Nahhhh I love this guy dude was involved in the destruction of 5 planets and shes like nah but I love him.... Then Finn gets a badass 1v1 with Kylo because he felt something inside of him (latent connection to the force) meaning possible Jedi he grabs the saber and starts fucking kylo up bear in mind Finn is a battle ready Storm trooped he CAN fight and its not against half starved scrappers he knows how to get down.. Kylo beats him ofc but he done better than Rey should have done at her current knowledge point shit even Anakin had to get humbled because he thought he was better than he was at his current stand point in Clone Wars, So Then they scrap that whole idea and for the next 2 movies hes given a glorified janitor as his love intrest (rose I actually thought rose could have been a good addition to the squad) that they just didnt address anywhere and he spends 90% of his time running and screaming "REEEEEEEYYYYY" - In the words of Adam Driven himself " I didnt kill Han Solo Wokeness killed han Solo" need I say more on that subject - and they couldnt have assassinated Luke Skywalker in a worse way, Luke lost his Aunt his Uncle on the same day death by Incineration and dude was like "ok now its my turn" grabs daddys Light saber and gets to work unlimately Freeing Anakin from Palpatines grasp so that Anakin could fulfill the prophecy and all the way upto that everything pointed to Luke that Vader was just going to end up killing him but he had hope and faith in his father just like Padme did even at the end of VI you see hes smiling hes happy so tell me, WHY TF would he have lost so much hope and faith in the force that he bannishes himself to an island and cuts himself off from the force because of a dream that Ben had and then tries to kill him and then resists.. awhh it makes me want to scream.. even Kylo being a villain makes no damn sense his whole thing is he wants to be liek Vader and he will avenge his grandfather, So what Luke and Leia just decided for 20 odd years or how ever old he is not to tell him that his grandfather turned back to the good side, F*** off 😂 - She is not a Skywalker... THE WHOLE DAMN POINT was for her to accept that she was a palpatine and that it didnt matter that she was a palpatine and she could change the way that people seen the name "ohh shes going to say it she gonna say it" " Im Rey.... Rey Skywalker " ughmmm what..... I could go on but I have ranted enough lol Spartan and Pudgey made this an easier watch lol :D

I'm so torn on this movie, because there are scenes & story beats that are SO terrible... but there are also scenes & story beats that I love. Over all, Kylo/Ben's storyline was the highlight of the trilogy for me. And yes, I absolutely hate that they killed him off. I would've loved to see a new sequel trilogy following this one where Ben & Rey start up a new Jedi Order. I think their actors did a great job & deserved better.

Grant Gould

Regarding Star Wars TV series: You'll like Andor (1st season is good, 2nd season is GREAT), but I think the most vital one to watch is The Clone Wars. It brings SO MUCH to the table. Yes, there are some silly forgettable episodes, but at the end of the day (especially in the later seasons) it has some of *THE BEST* Star Wars characters & storylines that have ever been created. You'll absolutely love it... (And the animation improves every season, so don't be thrown off by the early-season meh-animation)... oh, and don't forget to start with the Clone Wars animated movie from 2008; it kicks off the series and is a must-watch.

Demented Avenger

7 was fun. 8 was...wtf did they do to Luke? Why isn't the story cohseive? What is that casino scene? Why don't I care about Fynn anymore? 9 was a dumpter fire.

The Great Page

Fun fact, one of those rebel officer women is Carrie Fisher's (Leia) daughter.

Βαγγέλης Βιδάλης

Guys ok the movie isnt as good as the others but I went to the cinemas in a room with extremely good sound. At the time the cost for a regular room was 8 euros. This one I got in was like 35 euros. You cannot imagine the sound when Palpatine launched his lightning from his fingers. The sound penetrated our lungs literally.

Kotlan

Sorry not related to Star Wars at all - have yall considered reacting to the X-men movies? I think it’d make for great content

Kotlan

Also highly recommend watching clone wars - that’s the only other part of Star Wars that George Lucas was truly involved in

blizzity

lmao I missed those disney title cards :')

Dillon Nagel

I really hate when people give opinions without knowing there’s underlying lore that they’re not aware of. Palpatine learned how to create life with the force. Anakin was the product of that skill and that’s where he got the idea.

Samuel Ketner

So some added context. JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson, JJ directed and wrote 7 & 9, Rian did 8, were apart of the generation that didn't really like the prequels, and only liked the original originals (non special edition originals). JJ even teased about putting Jar Jar's skeleton in the deserts of Jakku when the force awakens was coming out. And I feel like... I feel like it's pretty obvious after you really watch the sequel trilogy. But with the perspective I feel also loses the weight of the story, introduced characters like Snoke that don't make much sense, etc. There are moments to.the sequels that are good and fun. But. They are definitely movies that were made by people that tried to recapture their childhoods that didn't really understand what made it their childhood to begin with. My hot take.

RuinedX

I'm looking forward to the Obi-Wan reactions.
