And this is why you don’t mess with Alpha. The Wlalking Dead’s version of the Red Wedding. There’s been jokes about how she’s nothing compared to Negan etc, but Alpha is a completely different beast. She’s an absolute psychopath, and her control of her people and the reveal of that horde. She can control the dead, and our guys are up against an enemy like no other. Alpha had been pretty “reasonable” until this point, she warned them that she didn’t want conflict (and was mocked by Soartan lol). And she gave them multiple warnings. This was her showing part of her hand, this was like a written warning. Samantha Morton as Alpha is SO good. Our group have got one hell of a fight on their hands from such a dangerous and different enemy. Plus Alpha’s not just one dimensional, her daughter is definitely something that affects her like nothing else. But she IS a monster. More of a monster than the dead.

Fun fact: This episode they also made it look like Ezekiel was going to be one of the heads, because in the comics where TWD is based off of, He actually IS one of them. So he has outlived his comic equivalent.

Re: the Rick stuff -- I felt the same way at first, I was SO disappointed to realize he's actually gone from the main show (I literally quit watching the show for awhile I was so pissed)... BUT - do not lose faith! haha. The final two seasons really get to focus on some of the show's best characters, like Daryl, Negan, etc., and I think you guys will actually really love the spin-off sequels (especially "The Ones Who Live"). They're great. But I will say no more; I don't want to spoil anything. :)

This is definitely the episode that shows us how much of a threat the Whisperers actually are... Alpha is a straight-up psycho, I think more so than any of the past villains. Anyway, loved the reaction. Can't wait for more! :)

Yeah, if I remember correctly, Rick's actor left because he had a new baby back home, and Maggie's actor landed the lead in a different TV series.

yeah andrew lincoln, ricks actor wanted to spend more time with his family back in england so he quit the show and lauren cohen, maggie's actor wanted more acting opportunities. whats more is that they took morgan to bring more viewrs to fear the walking dead which was really going down. dont search it but wait until you hear the premise of the deryl dixon spin off lol

I think the mini series "The Ones Who Live" is a MUST watch for Walking Dead fans to get Rick understanding and closure. Without saying too much. Just think of it as additional content at the end of The Walking Dead. So you don't feel dead inside.

About the intro, I really didn't understand why you guys weren't informed about rick leaving the show since it wasn't really a spoiler, Andrew Lincoln publicly said back when the end of season 8 aired that season 9 gonna be his last season on this show.

for clarity - the deaths weren't due to budget cuts aside from the character choices, these is how the border is marked in the comics too Arguably, the characters lost here werent as significant as the ones in the comic but each has an impact of its own!

Budget cuts 😂 This happens in the comics. But the lineup is different and for me, underwhelming. I wasnt bothered by any of those deaths. But if it was the comics line up I would have lost my sh!t

Just catching up but this episode is why Alpha IS a brilliant villain. Being so methodical she was able to attack our group in such a huge way without our group even knowing they were under attack. Samantha is chilling in the role and she is a force to be reckoned with. The Whisper arch is one of the best in terms of The Walking Dead villains

I think my big problem is, I stopped watching the show around the end of Rick too, and didn't come back until years later after the spin offs started. And now, there's so many of them, I don't know which ones to watch in what order for the story to like, make sense, if there's still some chronological order to the spin-offs themselves and a certain order they should go in.
