The back half of next season is gonna feel a little weird mainly because that half was filmed during the height of the COVID pandemic. That's all I can say

It's really strange that it took 9 seasons for us to finally see winter in this show. I still remember Rick talking to Shane in the car about what the winter months could possibly do to walkers

Not all winters are made equal. It's really that simple. Just like you can have a super hot summer, you can have an usually cold winter. This is just an especially bad winter.

I'm obviously not going to spoil anything, but there are multiple reasons to watch the remaining seasons that do actually tie into Maggie and Rick's spin offs. Trust me these remaining seasons are still very worth while in terms of Rick and Maggie.

Eh, I don't subscribe to the whole "if we watched the show from Negan's perspective his actions would make sense" idea. Rick attacked his outpost for a reason, and that reason is that he had enslaved Hilltop and killed their people. I don't think there's any perspective that makes him remotely a good guy. With that said, I'm here for the redemption arc. I don't think he should be forgiven, but he's capable of doing good and has proven to be a major asset.

I remember a storm that hit Baltimore (our crew in Alexandria is abt an hours drive away) one winter that shut the city down for a full week. I could walk to my college classes but they were cancelled bc the professors couldn’t drive. The roads were just covered, it was kind of fun. Wouldn’t be so much fun in a pre-industrial zombie apocalypse!

After s7 ep1 aired, I HATED Negan and wanted him dead as quickly and violently as possible. In this episode with Judith, I just absolutely love those scenes and I could watch them over and over again. Say what you want about Negan the man has charisma.

exactly...you absolutely cannot justify a person who decides to force people to do work for him and earn points otherwise they get burned or beaten...you cannot justify a man who orders women to sleep with him because he threatens the lives of their actual husbands. That's coercive rape. He could have chosen to do things in a better way, but he chose to enslave, rape and kill. He is not a good guy. He's like a criminal who suddenly found god while in prison.

The quote Spartan loved from Ezekiel at the start: "Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once." is actually a quote from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and was also Nelson Mandela's favourite quote, which he underlined in the book of Shakespeare that was kept hidden at the prison whilst he was imprisoned. Each prisoner underlined meaningful lines and that was the one he chose. I know some didn't think much of this episode, but I love how different it is with us finally seeing winter in this world! Plus, I love Negan saving Judith. A piece of debris caught in the storm hits him in the wind and that's what slashed his leg.

I know season 9 wasn't your jam. I think you'll appreciate Season 10 a lot more. Minus most of the "bonus" episodes.
