I honestly really enjoyed this episode. I think the best part of it was seeing Tenzin struggle with, and ultimately accept, his failure. Clearly, he did everything in his power to try to master spirituality like his father wanted him to, but sometimes it's out of our control. This episode, through Tenzin's acting, does an excellent job at conveying all the pressure Tenzin has as the only airbending master. He has the complete weight of an entire culture on his shoulders, and I'm glad we got to see how human and flawed he is because anyone would be overwhelmed in that position. I'm also really excited to see Avatar Korra finally interacting with the spirit world. Jinora was a pleasant surprise, I wish they fleshed out her connection a bit more beforehand but oh well. I also wanted to voice my disappointment with the way Bolin's character has been sidelined and turned into a caricature. Seems like a waste to me. I wish he was in the main plot more because season one Bolin was a joy to watch

Unique

lol it's Tenzin struggling the entire episode, and Jinora getting Korra to the spirit world in 2 seconds for me

it's getting worse and vaatu became prominent because of harmonic convergence which comes around every 10k year (?) as stated in Avatar Wan episodes

Bro Lin is exactly the same. Lin is Toph's daughter, that's just her personality lmaooo

I think making Jinora be the one who has spiritual connection and not Tenzin was such a smart idea. It first gives more spotlight on Tenzin’s kids especially Jinora and breaks her out of being a background character to prominent one and sets up potential future story arcs for her as well

Also don’t agree about Lin. She has always been a moody character even in the first season. Obviously she’s got issues she needs to deal with, all I am going to say is trust the story. You will eventually get into Lin’s character in upcoming seasons and will see her from a different side
