Nice! My company held a private screening of the movie about a week before it opened. Good times. Glad you guys watched it.

Liam Mcfarlane

I don’t know whether this was the intention but I always thought Peeta was playing the smart game the whole time, I don’t think him teaming up with the career pack was just for self-preservation. He knew the audience liked him so he sold the love story in the run up to the games to get them on board with Katniss and then teamed up with the career pack so that the audience would turn on him and put their support (and sponsorship) behind Katniss therefore increasing her chances of winning

Agreed. Peeta is very strategic about that stuff throughout, the only thing that was genuine, although he kind of half hid it behind the strategy, was his feelings for Katniss.

OMG I cant believe you are watching this. LOOOOOOVE IT!

Pudgey was right about district 1,2,3, etc. being richer than the latter ones

Can’t wait for Catching Fire reaction ☺️

I’m so incredibly happy you guys are reacting to this series. One of my favorites of all time!

Julie

Worth watching the edited version just for the editors jokes! You guys did really well with this one having missed the hype when it originally came out and not having read the books. The books are great though and Hunger Games is definitely having its renaissance at the moment. It’s funny though how suspicious you guys are of everyone, love to see how your thoughts will change after the next one. As you probably know it’s a favorite! I’ll def watch the uncut for that one. Edit: i know it’s easy to hate the tributes from the Careers Districts, especially with how they act. But I do think it’s worth noting that even though the prestige districts have their advantages at the end every district has to bleed, even the privileged. And what can you do in such a horror show but act as they expect for you to? Not to say there are no villains, but they are all teenagers sent to die so there’s a grey area as well.

David

The story is very small in the first movie meaning you only see district 12's perspective and there is little explanation on why people are doing and acting the way that they are. The next movie gets bigger and and more complex. I look forward to seeing each of your takes on how the larger story begins to unfold.

Craig Rairdin

Definitely plan on watching "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" after you finish the original 4-movie "trilogy".

M. Gideon Hoyle

The actor playing President Snow wasn't in Harry Potter, btw... He's Donald Sutherland, a legend who's been in tons of classic movies, including the original M*A*S*H*, Klute and The Dirty Dozen. He's also the father of Kiefer Sutherland.

Great reaction and a very good movie franchise. Looking forward to this one, and to Stranger Things.

Agreed, I wasn’t going to watch this after watching the uncut but I’m glad I did 😁

Jan

One of the most influential movies of my teen years 🥰 Thanks for picking this ❤️

Btw. Idk if you guys are into books all that much but the trilogy is a fantastic read! It’s all written from Katniss’ pov so the immersion is even greater. Recommend!

Katie Donahue

and yes you should react to the prequel too~

Daryl

I had a drink with Donald Sutherland while they were filming part of this in Prague.
