Oslo

Pudgey, in the nation of Panem, the Capitol exercises control by withholding food to prove its dominance in the districts and by distributing it freely to keep the citizens in the Capitol satisfied. The Games are about the Tributes competing for resources, including food. Tributes that win the Games get increased rations of resources and those districts become more favoured /well-fed than the others, while the less favoured districts must resort to tesserae to feed themselves.

My friend once told me that a lot of people would love to go visit their franchise, fantasy world, Star Wars, Lord of the rings, etc. but he said he’s never heard anybody saying they would love be in the hunger game franchise doesn’t seem like they win

I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this reaction. It's hard to get every little detail on the first watch especially when you are reacting to stuff and also haven't had time to kind of absorb the world building for a year between films. Wonderful job tho. Again, I really hope you do the prequel as well. It's a great addition to this world.

Excited for y’all to watch the 3rd and 4th movies! This one is my favorite of the 4 but the last two are solid films as well. Some pretty big name actors get added to the cast too but I’m not sure if y’all will recognize them with the Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Mad Eye Moody connection 😂. All jokes aside, great reaction as always!

Spartan getting emotional at the Katniss/Prim moment was so wholesome. I feel the same. There is just something about those sibling scenes that hit hard. I saw all 4 of the Hunger Games movies at the midnight premieres. Back then, my brother and I would get to the theater right after we were let out of school and be the first in line to get into the theater. Good times. I’m so happy you guys are enjoying this series! It is one of the best.

This represents the absolute top of the mid 2010s dystopian genre. The pacing is simply perfect. Deep, hart hitting character moments throughout the entire first half - then the game starts and it’s like a never ending action sequence. So, so good. And I can’t help it, something about Ceaser Flickerman (the show host) just cracks me up. I love the guy 💀

Also the districts that have an actual culture of training and celebrating their tributes (1, 2 and 4) are richer due to the recourses they work with - mainly jewels and similar high value goods. Their connection to the capitol is very different compared to the poorer districts.

Loren

Great reaction and attention to the details! I can't wait for you guys to react to the next movies. I'm keep coming here everyday to see if it's already posted 😂

neutchain

Spartan giving off solid Aria vibes... F that guy just add him to the list! :D

Katie

please react to the prequel after you finish mockingjay part 2!!!

liam fritchley

Very impressive you both got the small details that give hints at what’s going to happen when I first watched it they went over my head 😂 but I loved the film and the twist at then end was amazing can’t wait for the next 👊

Lolilie

Seconding anyone mentioning the prequel! It's pretty good, IMO. Most of the prequels to the series you have reacted to (*ahem* LotR, *cough* Harry Potter) are not great, but the Hunger Games prequel is solid.

Adrian

waiting for the mockingjay p1. Constantly reloading xD

Alex Ocean

After this, the MAZE RUNNER series!! It was a part of this genre, love those movies!!!
