Better Than Friday - 239 (Patreon)

Good evvvvening everyone, looking forward to the live stream tomorrow evening, hope to see you there.

Meanwhile, here's some stuff to enjoy over the weekend.

Thanks very much for your continued support.

1. Book to read: Les Diaboliques by Jules Barbey D'Aurevilly (Paid Link)

A decadent author I've been meaning to read. Saw the film adaptation years go. Terrific.

2. Ripley

My fear is they've missed Ripley's charm in exchange for Bateman coldness, but those images are oustanding. Scott's a fine actor too. Will be watching.

3. A Sculptor Recreating Venus out of Marble

A fascinating process captured from start to finish.

4. La Fin Absolue du Monde

Udo Kier and Norman Reedus in a John Carpenter short film called Cigarette Burns about an apocalyptic/cursed film that caused a murderous riot upon its premiere in the 1970s and was never seen again. Campy but enjoyable.

5. Anibal Troilo - Quejas de Bandoneon

Courtesy of friend and patron Samuel via Discord - Thanks, this is beautiful.

(Extra) 6. Knausgard on Otherppl with Brad Listi

Also here's that Knausgard interview I mentioned in the last livestream. So good.
