Better Than Friday - 243 (Patreon)

Good evening everyone - Hotter than Hell over here.

Hope you're cooling off somewhere with a great book.

Another review coming your way soon, meanwhile, the 2nd installment in the Paglia series covering Chapters 2 and 3 is now up if you haven't yet had a chance to watch.

Have a grand weekend.

1. Book to read - The Borgias: The Hidden History by G. J. Meyer (Paid Link)

Didn't know where to start with the history of the Borgias, so grabbed this one. Looks to be good.

Still need to watch that series with Jeremy Irons too.

Just discovered it was directed by Neil Jordan.

2. The Paintings of the Russian Symbolist Mikhail Vrubel

Brought to my attention by the eccentric Spanish YouTuber Antonio García Villarán.

Very unusual

Here's a video about him in English.

3. Portishead - Strangers

What a 90's jam...

Something about this that still sounds so fresh.

4. Cats Want to Kill (and probably eat) You.

and here's proof.

i knew it.

5. "When Blaise Cendrars Tells His Story"

"I've been a jeweler, I've been this and that, I've been a horse thief and a filmmaker..."

One of Henry Miller's mysterious heroes.

I really need to review his book Moravagine (Paid Link)
