Good evvvening everyone, wishing you a nice weekend.

Finishing up a review of William Gibson's classic 'Neuromancer' (Paid Link)

One of the first reviews I ever did (poorly haha). It was nice to return to it.

I still don't understand the plot.

That'll be coming your way this weekend.

Thank you so much for your continued support.

1. Book to read: The Unfortunate Traveler and Other Works by Thomas Nashe (Paid Link)

Tales from an eccentric peer of Shakespeare, and a favorite of William S. Burroughs.

Speaking of...

2. 'Mr. Burroughs, do you regret anything in your life?'

What a question to pose him.

3. Downtown 81

Shocked I haven't posted this already.

Downtown 81 is a film starring Jean-Michel Basquiat featuring a cast composed of the hip denizens of the Lower East Side at the time, including Debbie Harry, John Lurie, various New and No-Wave bands, Tuxedomoon, DNA, James Chance...

A real moment in time. Outstanding soundtrack.

The original sound recordings were lost and Basquiat passed away before the film's release, so the audio of Basquiat's voice is actually Saul Williams.

I once saw it in the theater, fantastic, I recommend it if you have the chance.

4. Not usually a Dub guy but this is marvelous

Killer track from Linval Thompson.

5. Carl Jung on his Relationship with Sigmund Freud

"Long and penetrating conversations" with Freud.

Indeed.

Loving the Burroughs stuff. He was the starting point for me in a lot of ways. I’m not as obsessive over him these days (thank god for that!) but he’s still a goat.

Looking forward to the Gibson review! Some books I just read for the and I think that's why I also prefer shorter books. I am terrible at remembering characters' names . . . Read "Great Jones Street" by DeLillo recently. Not super cohesive (a very early effort) but VERY cool.
