Good evening friends - Wishing you much relaxation this weekend.

Hope you'll tune in and say 'Hello' tomorrow at 11AM EST for the Livestream tomorrow for Chapters 4 & 5 of Camille Paglia's "Sexual Personae".

Have a great evening and Thank You so much for your continued support.

1. Book to read: Prae by Miklos Szenkuthy  (Paid Link)  found via @wastemailinglist - Thanks man!

An incomprehensible experimental Hungarian novel from 1934.

I read the whole (long) synopsis - Still have no clue what this thing will be like but can't wait.

2. Black Orpheus directed by Marcel Camus

One of my favorite films.

A beautiful retelling of the myth of Orpheus in Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval.

It has one of the greatest soundtracks ever recorded, featuring the Bossanova legend Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luiz Bonfa.

The main theme from the soundtrack became a Jazz standard.

It won the Palm D'or at Cannes in 1959.

3. Peter Lorre Looney Toons compilation

"They Make Me Laugh"

4. Oliver Reed on 'The Devils' directed by Ken Russel

The legendary Oliver Reed discussing his harrowing experience acting in a great film I'm going to mention in tomorrow's livestream.

5. The Bryan Ferry Orchestra - This Island Earth

Terrific 1920's/30s style Jazz renditions of Bryan Ferry's songs.

Introduced to me by Vincent @Vincent_Nappi - Thanks very much my friend!

I loved Oliver Reed in Tommy, also directed by Ken Russell. I saw it in junior high school, and fell in love with Ann Margret.

Babablon's Whispers

Ooh! Ken Russell's The Devils is one of my absolute fave movies ever!
