Better Than Friday - 269 (Patreon)

Good evening everyone, hope things are well with you and yours.

A package arrived with a signed edition of Legs McNeil's 'Please Kill Me' - That was awesome.

Legs is a very nice guy.

I just released a Poll for ya'll to choose the next book after José Donoso's 'The Obscene Bird of Night', looks like Ballard is the top contender at the moment, but there's still time.

Wishing you a great weekend, thank you so much for your continued support.

1. Book I can't wait to read - "Borges" by Adolfo Bioy Casares (Paid Link)

Thrilled about this forthcoming translation.

A book by Casares about his friendship with Borges.

Comes out in August 2025.

2. Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Lead Belly Cover)

Grew up with this Lead Belly cover, and album.

As old as I get, it just increases in power.

3. The Tyger by William Blake - Read by Ian Richardson

Terrific reading.

I think I saw this posted by friend and patron Chris - Nice find man.

4. James Brown “Please, Please, Please”

1964.

Man, that drop at 3:03.

Unreal performer.

5. Anthony Bourdain Interview from 2010.

I miss that guy. Great interview.
