Better Than Friday - 270 (Patreon)

Good evening everyone, cooling off here in Florida, which has been very welcome.

Hope you're reading something excellent and that you have a nice weekend to enjoy it.

Thank you so much for your continued support.

1. A book I need to read: "The Analects" by Confucious (Paid Link)

Recommended by Zero, thanks a bunch man. I've not yet read any Chinese philosophy.

Confucious seems like a great place to start.

2. An Interview with Andre Breton about the Surrealist movementVery cool to see an interview with Breton. I wasn't aware that he knew Freud. You can turn on the automatic-translation to English subtitles in the Captions section.

3. You Don't Always Get What You Want by The Flaming Stars

Solid garage rock. Love this track. Excellent guitar riff.

Great video too.

4. Interview with Peter Markham

Peter Markham, director of the adaptation of 'The Cormorant', with Ralph Fiennes, commented on my review of the book.

Very cool, I wish I could find a copy of his adaptation. Peter was an instructor at AFI Conservatory in L.A. As he mentioned in our comment exchange (you can see it by filtering 'newest) one of his students was Ari Aster.

5. Mastroianni and Sophia Loren with Dick Cavett

A chat amongst legends, all three of them.

To think Marcello perhaps became who he was because he was fired as an accountant.

I believe Vincent Nappi might’ve sent this one to me.

I was reminded of it from this segment on differ.tv
