Good evening ya’ll how’s your Friday evening?

Editing a review of The Tower by W.B. Yeats.

Phenomenal poetry collection. Highly recommended.

Wishing you a fine weekend.

1. To be read: The Golem by Gustav Meyrink (Paid Link)

A fantastic looking Austrian Gothic Novel kindly gifted to me by friend and patron Anders, thank you so much!

I also plan to watch the German Expressionist adaptation, "The Golem: How He Came into the World" directed by Paul Wegener and Carl Boese.

2. "William Gass on 12 of the Most Important Books in His Life"

Not surprised The Tower by Yeats made the cut.

I'd like to read everything on the list. The only other ones I've read are Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury" and William Gaddis's "The Recognitions", both of which were excellent.

3. A man's brain was turned into glass after the eruption of Vesuvius

A tragic event that produced an incredible anatomical artifact. Unreal.

4. "No Pussy Blues" by Grinderman

While I was reading Yeats I couldn’t help but hear the line from Nick Cave’s goofy raucous garage rock project Grinderman running through my head:

"I read her Eliot, I read her Yeats I tried my best to stay up late, I fixed the hinges on her gate but even then she just said that she just...didn't want to."

5. Jeremy Irons “How I Read Poetry”

I watched this after I shot my review for Yeats, in which I came to similar conclusions regarding reading poetry out loud. Irons certainly has a voice for reading poetry.

Caption suggestions?

You're very welcome. The film is awesome. I just thrifted a huge book of collected poems of Yeats. Looking forward to reading some. Think I'll start with The Tower. Remember seeing Grinderman live at relatively small venue, considering it was Nick Cave, efter the release of their first album. That was intense. Still have the T-shirt.
