Better Than Food - 295 (Patreon)

Good evening everyone, how goes it?

Recently posted the latest Sexual Personae installment.

Also recently finished Harlan Ellison's "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" (Paid Link).

Highly recommended. Couldn't be more topical.

Hope you're having a nice Friday, wishing you the best, always.

1. Recent book recommendation: The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T.E. Lawrence (Paid Link)

This was recently recommended to me by my kind viewer Ian.

It was the basis for the film 'Lawrence of Arabia', which somehow I still have not seen.

I have no excuse. I'd like to see it in a theater.

2. Norman Mailer informing Dick Cavett that he headbutted Gore Vidal

To think authors used to actually fight.

When was the last time we had two literary giants come to blows?

This is the infamous Dick Cavett episode with Gore Vidal and Norman Mailer, the night the incident happened.

3. Sam Cooke - "A Change is Gonna Come" violin cover by Charles Yang

Discovered this through my friend John.

Sharp cover. The original is, of course, spectacular as well.

4. A Lesson on Grammar from Harlan Ellison

The enormity of his outrage is hysterical. Also, I learned some things.

5. Melt by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Used to listen to the Banshees a lot back in the day. This one was a favorite. Fever dream music.
