Good evening everyone!

I've got a review of Bruges-La-Morte by Georges Rodenbach coming your way soon. After that, I'll be working on the next installment of the Sexual Personae series. Wishing you a nice weekend, thanks very much for helping me keep the pages turning.

Book I'd like to read: Collected Poems and Other Verse by Stéphane Mallarmé (Paid Link)

I came across Mallarmé's name while researching Symbolism, as he was one of the main figures associated with the movement. I've heard of him but haven't yet read him. Looks intriguing.

An interview with Hemingway's son, Patrick Hemingway

Cool to hear about his favorite novel by his father. I gotta get a copy of Patrick's book of letters.

Luke the Drifter AKA Hank Williams - Ramblin' Man

My favorite Hank Williams track. Forlorn and beautiful. Great road music.

Vampira

1950s horror was the best.

"In Bruges" directed by Martin McDonagh

A memorable scene from a very dark comedy. The only film I can recall seeing set in Bruges.

Bruges is my favorite place I've ever visited and the film is also one of my favorites. We actually stayed in the hotel where Ken and Ray stayed and had a view looking right out to that main canal. Also climbed the bell tower despite being "fat Americans." I really want to go back some day and hope it hasn't lost its charm.

Vampira is great. It’s a real shame that the episodes weren’t kept anywhere for us to appreciate it now in the future. I hope they’ll still find someone that taped it and has it somewhere.
