Hello y'all, reading anything good this Halloween season? Just shot the review for John William Polidori's "The Vampyre" (Paid Link) - The first Vampire story in English. Coming your way soon. October AMA video coming soon as well.

Thank you so much for all your help in keeping the show going - Have a great weekend.

A Classic Horror Novel Recommended to me by a friend: Melmoth the Wanderer by Charles Maturin (Paid Link)

A Gothic Novel written by an Irish Priest about a man who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for an additional 150 years of life.

If it was enjoyed by Baudelaire, Poe, and Oscar Wilde, I imagine it's quite something.

Boris Karloff (the Frankenstein Monster) Coffee Commercial

That is quite the stash he's got there in his castle.

These Immortal Souls - Crowned

Can't go wrong with Rowland S. Howard.

Florida is now turning invasive Burmese pythons into luxury goodsHere's a wild article from National Geographic about a woman who is doing this. Don't get me wrong, I love snakes - but considering the damage they've been wreaking on native species in the Everglades, I'm ok with this.

"Gothic" directed by Ken Russell

A very bizarre cinematic take on the night at the mansion near Lake Geneva where Byron, Polidori, and the Shelleys had their ghost story contest.

Littered with problems - they definitely weren't flattering to Byron nor Polidori, but it's such a bizarre, demented film that it's worth a watch.

Ken Russell was the outrageous director behind "The Devils".

Gave Gary (our skeleton) an Upgrade after my Dracula review. He didn't mind.

I got up super early and couldn't get back to sleep. Got this update and thought I'd check out Gothic. It's 7:30am here, I feel I've started the day well!

Especially towards the end! And even if the historical accuracy is a bit dubious, I really liked Mary Shelley's portrayal. She was my favourite character.

NGL the Devils is one of my favorite movies and I love telling people about Lair of the White worm because its so bizarre to tell Dr Who fans that one of Peter Capaldi's early roles was a horror movie where he acted along side Hugh Grant of all people.
