Howdy ya'll, please excuse the delayed post - had a hell of a busy week.

1. A Book I Ordered Today

Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk

This is a book my wife recommended. There was so much incredible stuff happening in the Lower East Side around the late 70's, so many outrageous characters. It was a real moment in time, it seems.

It was written in part by Legs McNeil, one of the co-founders of 'Punk' magazine.

A contemporary classic, Please Kill Me is the definitive oral history of the most nihilistic of all pop movements. Iggy Pop, Richard Hell, the Ramones, and scores of other punk figures lend their voices to this decisive account of that explosive era. This 20th anniversary edition features new photos and an afterword by the authors.

2. Latest rare book find...Going for over $600+ on Amazon.

I haven't read much on Aleister Crowley, but this caught my eye, and I'm excited to check it out.

It's by a Texas author as well.

3. The Ninth Gate Soundtrack

A phenomenal soundtrack by the Czech composer Wojiech Kilar.

4. A 97-Year-Old Philosopher Faces His Own Death

"What is the point of it all?...There is no point. It's a foolish question."

Found this documentary this morning. Very recent. Moved me to tears.

Disturbing to see the frailty of a 97 philosopher acknowledging his inability to find answers after previously thinking he'd solved the problems.

A lesson for many of us is contained in here, I believe.

Nobody figures it out. Life is endlessly perplexing.

Life doesn't necessarily get better.

People and relationships are very, very important.

5. $4,000 Grimoire

Look at this thing at a Half-Price Books in Texas.

Hi Cliff, your wife recommended an awesome book Please Kill Me. You will greatly enjoy it. And if you are a fan of Debbie Harry, her memoir Face It is another good one. And if you want to watch a great documentary, there Alan Parker's film Who Killed Nancy about the murder of Nancy Spungen and the events leading up to it and the aftermath. Glad to see Texas agrees with you both on Instagram. Have a great weekend and thanks for the newsletter today. Love your show on YouTube and glad to be a patron. Peace✌
