Greetings everyone, hope all is well, thanks for the support.

1. Book in the Pipeline - Hurricane Season by Fernanda Melchor

Recommended from a viewer on the channel - Looking forward to this one.

My dad once had a very long, very cinematic dream, like a film, which he described to me, and which, it sounds, had similar elements to this story, though not as dark.

The Witch is dead. And the discovery of her corpse—by a group of children playing near the irrigation canals—propels the whole village into an investigation of how and why this murder occurred. Rumors and suspicions spread. As the novel unfolds in a dazzling linguistic torrent, with each unreliable narrator lingering on new details, new acts of depravity or brutality, Melchor extracts some tiny shred of humanity from these characters that most would write off as utterly irredeemable, forming a lasting portrait of a damned Mexican village.

Like Roberto Bolano’s 2666 or Faulkner’s greatest novels, Hurricane Season takes place in a world filled with mythology and violence—real violence, the kind that seeps into the soil, poisoning everything around: it’s a world that becomes more terrifying and more terrifyingly real the deeper you explore it.

2. An Underground Cathedral That I'd Like To Visit

This is Colombia's underground 'Salt Cathedral' of Zipaquirá carved out of a mine.

It looks astounding. Definitely on the list of places to see before I die.

3. Biblio

A resource for identifying rare books recommended by a patron - Thanks Shauna!

4. Roy Montgomery has been the greatest thing I've listened to in the past year

Montgomery is an experimental guitarist from New Zealand.

This is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

Taking a walk in the woods and listening to this has been an incredible experience.

Also, for those who don't recognize the name Monica Vitti, she was a phenomenal Italian actress who starred in Antonioni's films.

Here's a great video of her discussing the negative reaction of the Canne's audience to 'L'Avventura', which is shocking to think about today, considering it's probably one of the greatest films of all time.

His collaboration with Liz Harris from Grouper on the song Landfall is also stunning.

5. SMILE

That time The Fall went on Top of the Pops thanks to John Peel.

Ferocious, uncompromising stuff.

This is one of those funny moments in life.

So I found this skull in my neighborhood in a free pile on the corner back in May...

...And then one day, on my walk, approximately a week later I found its new home about 5 blocks away.

Nice
