Good afternoon everyone, hope ya'll are staying safe.
Thanks for the support.
1. A Sci-Fi book I'm looking forward to reading
This was a gift from a very generous fan. I love the cover.
I've never read anything by Samuel R. Delany. This sounds compelling.
Bellona is a city at the dead center of the United States. Something has happened there…. The population has fled. Madmen and criminals wander the streets. Strange portents appear in the cloud-covered sky. And into this disaster zone comes a young man–poet, lover, and adventurer–known only as the Kid. Tackling questions of race, gender, and sexuality, Dhalgren is a literary marvel and groundbreaking work of American magical realism.

2. Farewell and Adieu to You Fair Spanish Ladies...
So last week I was mentioning Jaws and Quint, and I realized I'd never heard the actual song he sings in the film...And I discovered it's outstanding.
One of my favorite film intros, complete with classic cringey 90's acting.
A must for fans of violent indie road films in the style of Badlands and Natural Born Killers.
4. A Lesson Learned - Always Carry Cash.
While buying books at an estate sale, even a managed one run by professionals, the chip machine went down and I got out of there fast and didn't have to wait around when I whipped out some bills.
It helps.
5. Pedro Almodóvar's Pisto Manchego
Lately, I've been cooking Pisto Manchego, a delicious kind of a Spanish ratatouille.
I just came across this variation by the brilliant Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar.
It looks nothing short of phenomenal.
*Caveat - The video is in Spanish.

A quote I'm pondering while reading Harold Bloom's 'How to Read and Why'
“Do not read, as children do, to amuse yourself, or like the ambitious, for the purpose of instruction. No, read in order to live.”― Gustave Flaubert
More obscenely beautiful nature in Oregon. This is the 'Trail of Ten Falls'
