Happy Friday ya'll, hope you're well, if you haven't seen it already, I've posted a new Bookshelf Tour video, and R.C. Waldun and I did a recent collaboration if you're looking for something new to read.

Thanks for the support, stay strong.

1. Book in the pipeline - Sexual Personae by Camille Paglia

I've been wanting to tackle this for quite some time.

She dedicated it to Harold Bloom and was a student of his.

From ancient Egypt through the nineteenth century, Sexual Personae explores the provocative connections between art and pagan ritual; between Emily Dickinson and the Marquis de Sade; between Lord Byron and Elvis Presley. It ultimately challenges the cultural assumptions of both conservatives and traditional liberals.

2. A Celebration of Life: El Dia de los Muertos

Cool video I found recently about this fascinating holiday.

3. Moondog, the Viking of Sixth Avenue

I love this album Sax pax for a sax. Great Fall music.

Louis Thomas Hardin (May 26, 1916 – September 8, 1999), also known as Moondog, was an American musician, composer, theoretician, poet and inventor of several musical instruments. He was blind from the age of 16.

Hardin lived in New York City from the late 1940s until 1972, and during this time he could often be found on 6th Avenue, between 52nd and 55th Streets, wearing a cloak and a horned helmet sometimes busking or selling music, but often just standing silently on the sidewalk. He was widely recognized as "the Viking of 6th Avenue" by thousands of passersby and residents who were not aware of his musical career.[1]

4. I'm convinced that people who can dance like this are living a better life

Is this not incredible?

5. Lon Chaney and Lou Costello

One of my favorites growing up. I loved Abbot and Costello, as well as the Universal monster films.

Classic, Classic, Classic.

The Duke of Eggslap

oh man, that sequel-setup stinger right at the end of the post. i’ve been on a warpath shoving Bruno down people’s throats in the discord until someone finally breaks & reads The Street of Crocodiles & Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass collections. hope this means a review will be coming down the pipe eventually. Bruno weaving a web of spells on the page is an unforgettable experience.

Paglia's Sexual Personae is a masterpiece, I still go back to it from time to time and find new ideas even now. Excited to hear your thoughts for sure.
