Good evening ya'll, anybody get in on that Gamestop action?

Hope you have a great weekend.

1. Book to be read - Son of the Morning Star: Custer and the Little Bighorn

Eve Babitz was talking about this one in 'I Used to be Charming'

Looks awesome.

Custer's Last Stand is among the most enduring events in American history--more than one hundred years after the fact, books continue to be written and people continue to argue about even the most basic details surrounding the Little Bighorn. Evan S. Connell, whom Joyce Carol Oates has described as "one of our most interesting and intelligent American writers," wrote what continues to be the most reliable--and compulsively readable--account of the subject. Connell makes good use of his meticulous research and novelist's eye for the story and detail to re-create the heroism, foolishness, and savagery of this crucial chapter in the history of the West.

2. A great documentary I saw on one of the strangest artists who ever existed

Again, reading about Eve Babitz and her friendship with Ed Ruscha got me thinking about the unbelievably strange Chris Burden.

3. Tragic, beautiful scene of Miguel de Unamuno's Speech against Spanish fascists.

Haven't seen the film but I came across this and thought it was great.

Talk about some courage.

I should really read some more Unamuno.

4. Train Kept A Rollin...

but...by Motorhead.

I really...Really love this song.

Excellent cover of The Yardbirds covering Tiny Bradshaw.

5. Anybody seen this?

On the Beach

This was recommended to me the other day by an old friend. Dystopian film about people in Australia who realize they only have a matter of days to live because of nuclear fallout headed their way. Anthony Perkins (of Hitchcock's Psycho fame) in the cast.

Proof I was Florida Man.

I'm seriously considering going back.
