Good afternoon everyone, hope all is well, thank you for your continued support.

A review of Dom Casmurro by Machado de Assis is coming soon, hope you enjoy it.

Have a nice weekend.

1. Recent Recommendation - The Lost Scrapbook by Evan Dara

This was recommended by a patron recently - Thanks Collin! I really enjoyed The Recognitions, still haven't read Vollmann yet, looking forward to cracking this open.

The Lost Scrapbook is arguably the most highly praised, but least known, American debut of the last several decades. Originally published by a non-commercial house, the novel received exactly one review in the mainstream media. But that review called The Lost Scrapbook the most accomplished first novel since William Gaddis' The Recognitions, from 1955. Since then, The Lost Scrapbook has garnered exceptional acclaim, in particular from alternative magazines and from literary sites and readers' groups on the internet. Chosen by William T. Vollmann as winner of The National Fiction Competition.

2. For those who cook as a hobby who want to learn more...

Or make a career out of it, maybe.

I've begun reading this just to further my education. Pricey, but impressive in its enormity.

One positive result of the pandemic, on my end at least, has been a lot more cooking at home.

3. I laughed

I gotta say, I'm sure it's not news, but Tim Dillon is pretty damn funny.

Kudos to @ Rafael Digitel in the discord for dropping this brilliance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbLENQGcnGM

4. Nino Rota is the best

Nino Rota's Fellini film soundtracks are outstanding.

Now would be a good time to watch more Fellini films.

5. The Hidden Written Message in Edvard Munch's 'The Scream'

The pencil inscription reads: “Can only have been painted by a madman,” infrared scans have shown.

The incredible thing about The Last Scrapbook is no one has any clue who the author Evan Dara is. Never given an interview or been photographed. He’s more reclusive than Pynchon.

Oh man, thanks to the shout out! Tim Dillon just gets the absurdity of today's world like no other

I got the Fellini box set from Criterion last month and I haven't gone through it yet, but the soundtrack link is tight
