Happy Friday ya'll.

That's my Mom's dog 'Sensei', though we refer to him as 'Hefty Jeff'. He's a Mastiff + Labrador mix. A Mastador. This was taken 3 seconds before he saw a cat and dragged me halfway across the cemetery, nearly ripping out my spine. He's a puppy who doesn't realize he has the strength of a bear.

Have a great weekend.

1. Need to reread - Pattern Recognition by William Gibson

I remember enjoying this, though I haven't read it in like 15 years.

If I remember properly, the protagonist is physically allergic to advertising which allows her to determine the effectiveness of a company's logo.

Felt very modern. I think there was also a character loosely based on the music video director Chris Cunningham.

I miss that era of history.

Cayce Pollard is a new kind of prophet—a world-renowned “coolhunter” who predicts the hottest trends. While in London to evaluate the redesign of a famous corporate logo, she’s offered a different assignment: find the creator of the obscure, enigmatic video clips being uploaded to the internet—footage that is generating massive underground buzz worldwide. 2. "Steady as a rock"

"Yeah but I shoot with this hand..." Blazing Saddles directed by Mel Brooks. One of the absolute greatest comedies ever made.

3. Escaping Life with Thomas Mann by Elena Shalneva

Not sure I agree with the author's convictions regarding intellect but a good reminder that I need to read Mann. I'd never heard of "Disillusionment", sounds great.

4. FailureTotally missed these guys from the 90s, this came on the other day, I love that bass.

5. Time to Make the Donuts

This was before my time but does anybody else feel like this? Judging by "the great resignation" - I think plenty of folks do.

I'm annoyed that I somehow don't have a copy of Disillusionment. Mann is definitely worth your time. I was lucky to catch Failure on recent tour. They played the entirety of Fantastic Planet.
