Happy Friday everyone, hope you're well.

There's a lot going on over here, hence my absence. Cross country move coming in July, back to Florida, can't wait.

Meanwhile, just finished Hamlet - Solid read if there ever was one.

Working on a 2022 To-Be-Read list, a little late but, on the way.

Have a great weekend.

1. Supplementary material for Hamlet by the one and only Harold Bloom

Might review this for patrons only soon. Seems like Hamlet has too much to be confined to one review.

------------------------------------

In Harold Bloom's New York Times bestselling Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human, the world's foremost literary critic theorized on the authorship of the historic play Hamlet. In this engaging new stand-alone work, he offers a full and warmly personal account of the play itself, explores its extraordinary impact throughout the history of western literature, and seeks to uncover the mystery at its heart.

2. Hey - Want to go on Vacation with me?

Not sure how ya'll are feeling but I'm ready to gtfo for a change of scenery.

The folks at Trovatrip got in touch recently, and we're seeing if we can make something happen.

Want to join me on vacation next year?

Please take this survey (just takes a couple of minutes). I'm thinking Portugal, Italy, Vietnam, or Mexico City, but you tell me where you'd most like to go, and if we get enough takers, we can make it happen.

It would be awesome to hang out in person!

3. Thelonius Monk's Light Blue

Great track.

4. Asylum Party - Fucking Love This Song

Posted by Nate in the discord - Incredible. Thanks man, never heard this.

5. Peter O'Toole and Orson Welles discussing Hamlet

God this is terrific.“I think Hamlet is the man to believe in the play of Hamlet.”

I know there's probably some out there experiencing Welles-fatigue but this was just too relevant. Last one for a while. I swear.

We're in the flyover zone. Serenaded by Canada Geese daily. And nightly.

I've been looking at the Orkney Islands recently. Not many people travel there. Food for thought. Anyway, it's a big world.

You've got a place to stay, Cuban food and a tour guide waiting for you if you ever come down by Miami my friend. Best of luck on these events!

Florida will be happy to have you back. We could always do with a little more culture around here.

Really looking forward to the upcoming "Hamlet" review(s)! "Hamlet in Purgatory" by Stephen Greenblatt is an incredible secondary source - and an interesting gateway, even, into that "strangest," central volume of Dante's poem (my personal favourite of the three). Would be thrilled to have some kind of meet up here in the North, or in South Vietnam (though Central Vietnam's the best of both). Great idea, Cliff. Looking forward to hearing more about this! Florida! . . . Congrats on this latest move! Keep us posted!

Just got back from a west coast vacay- I was in Portland dang I shoulda said something -but I did see Richard Meltzer out there for about 4 hours and the morning after had breakfast with Kevin Sampsell of Future Tense books and Powell's small press section. Really a hospitable town, those days. Before that my Navy pal got married and we were victims of a smash-and-grab in San Francisco, but we managed to hunt our stuff down and get our bags back in Oakland. Fucking crazy. Back at home now and reading a ton but most notably for this here group Nick Tosches "In The Hand of Dante" which is fucking ACE lit. Honestly for my next vacay it will probably be either Spain or Vietnam. If tis thing happened near the end of the year or sometime next year I'd be very down.
