Good evening ya'll!Hope you're having a lovely Friday night.

Just shot a Patron Only Review of Harold Bloom's Hamlet: Poem Unlimited - Terrific book about a terrific book.

1. A Strange Play based on Romeo and Juliet from 1633 I'd like to read "Tis Pity She's a Whore" by Sir John Ford

I read that Bataille loved it.

----------------------------------------

Ford wrote darkly about sexual and political passion, thwarted ambition, and incest. This selection of four plays also shows his ability to portray the poignancy of love as well as write entertaining comedy and create convincing roles for women. Setting Ford's earliest surviving independently written play, The Lover's Melancholy, alongside his three best-known works, The Broken Heart, 'Tis a Pity She's a Whore, and Perkin Warbeck, this edition includes an introduction with sections on each play, addressing gender issues, modern relevance, and staging possibilities

2. Was This the Nose that launched a thousand ships?

Jose Ferrer was superb in the role of Cyrano de Bergerac. This scene is legendary. Hysterical.

3. Golden Apples

Country Teasers are one of my new favorite bands.

Something about the Scottish Art Rock(?) band is just as much tongue in cheek as it is punk as fuck.

4. Guy sells 1st signed edition of John O'Brien's Leaving Las Vegas

I think he should've got more.

5. Charlotte Gainsbourg in the Criterion ClosetI always love watching these.

More than most films, even.

Command and Control center.
