Good evening everyone, hope you're enjoying your summer and have a great weekend.

1. Book I Need to Read - Dog Soldiers by Robert Stone

Recently finished 'The Quiet American' by Graham Greene, which I consider to be a perfect book, and Robert Stone wrote the introduction. This was recommended to me several years ago. -----------------------In Saigon during the waning days of the Vietnam War, a small-time journalist named John Converse thinks he'll find action - and profit - by getting involved in a big-time drug deal. But back in the States, things go horribly wrong for him. Dog Soldiers perfectly captures the underground mood of America in the 1970s, when amateur drug dealers and hippies encountered profiteering cops and professional killers - and the price of survival was dangerously high.

Would highly recommend John David Ebert. If you haven't already checked it out, I would suggest his series on Gravity's Rainbow. It helped me get through the book and I came away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the depth of Pynchon's writing. He has a good one on the Crying of Lot 49 too
