Happy Fall Ya'll

Currently finishing up 'What Do Men Want?' by Nina Power, an unusually friendly call to action for reconciliation between the sexes. A nice read.

Have a great weekend

1. Henry Miller wrote a book on the death of Yukio Mishima

And here's a signed copy.

I've got to read this damn thing. How did I not know about it until now?

2. This performance changed my life

Nick Cave's first band, 'The Birthday Party'.Tracy Pew steals the show.

Total chaos. Total rock & roll.

Depraved, vicious, sloppy, a trainwreck, absolutely genius.

3. Javier Marías Interview

An outstanding Spanish author who passed away recently, rest in peace. I highly recommend 'A Heart So White'.

4. What it's like driving these days in Portland OregonGreat film. Goofy as all hell. Saw it in the theater here the other day.

5. Rest in Peace Jean Luc GodardThe one and only. Here's the dance scene from A Bande Apart.

The Tampa Bay.

Henry Miller's Tropic of Capricorn remains in my top 3 favourite books. I have the Grove Press Evergreen edition - those books are beauties (I also have Tropic of Cancer and Genet's The Thief's Journal Grove Press Evergreen's). And I have a signed copy of 'The Smile at the Foot of the Ladder'. It's dedicated to the movie director, Barry Shear, who directed 'Across 110th Street' (1972). I'm sure I had his Mishima book at some point. I'll have to check it out. I'd love Cliff to review 'Capricorn' one day. It's life-changing.

I can confirm that driving in Portland is mad max tier.
