Better Than Friday - 174 (Patreon)

Good evening everyone, a very Happy New Year to you all.

Thank you so much for making this project possible.

Finishing up Crime and Punishment part 2 - Coming your way asap.

1. Mircea Carterescu - Solenoid

Saw this one on wastemailinglist's best of the year.

Carterescu is a Romanian author I've yet to get to but have heard great things about.

This appears to be the strange philosophical journal of a teacher in Communist Romania.

2. Henry Miller on trying to write like Knut Hamsun

Great line.

I'm currently reading Mysteries by Hamsun.

3. BibleProject

I'm not a Christian but I am reading the Bible (slowly) and find this useful for getting everything in each section.

4. Cary Grant's acrobatic skills

Watched this the other day, pretty solid.

5. THE MONKS

also the great track 'I Hate You'

These guys were the real deal.

So punk before punk was punk.

The face on the giant wheel of cheese at my local Italian bodega.
