Good morning everyone, ran out of time to post this last night, thank you for your patience.

Just posted a review of one of my all-time favorites 'The Trouble With Being Born' by E.M. Cioran, what a terrific read.

Hope all is well, have a great weekend.

1. Book to read: You Are Not a Gadget by Jaron Lanier

Recommended to me by my wife.

A warning about our relationship with technology by a computer scientist.

2. Iggy Pop playing Sleaford Mods to his cockatiel

I love those birds.

3. Crazy Guy Interview

Classic.

"I'm not gonna raise my voice."

4. La Barca by Los Tres Caballeros

Love this track, that guitar in the beginning is just perfect.

5. The Terminator

Just saw this in the theater. So good. Didn't realize so much of it was filmed in Downtown Los Angeles - Looks almost exactly the same.

Low-budget Sci-Fi turned mythological epic.

What a great soundtrack.

Awesome re-review, Cliff. Just read "La Bas" for the first time. Woah . . . I hope you do get around to re-reviewing "Against Nature." Reading "Serious Noticing" right now (James Wood). Highly recommended for you and for other viewers of the channel. No fluff essays, mostly on the classics, but on a number of the lesser known gems you've brought to my attention over the years as well. Cioron is so wild, man. Loved it. Looking forward to Amis next too!

Thanks for the update Cliff. Reading in June for me was a mixed bunch which included Fires by Raymond Carver, The Getaway by Jim Thompson, the debut novels of Ian McEwan and Cormac McCarthy to Georges Bataille's Story of the eye, which was, er, unexpected. Nothing could prepare me for it. The first book of July for me is currently Evelyn Waugh's Scoop, which in my penguin edition features a preface by the late Christopher Hitchens who describes Scoop as Waugh at his 'mid season point'. Certainly better than Vile Bodies but not mature and sombre like the later Brideshead Revisited.
