Buenas noches, how are you?

Very nice weather here in St. Petersburg.

Welcoming the Season of the Witch. Got some great books coming up.

Hope this finds you well and Thanks very much for your continued support.

1. The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker

The demented story of a puzzle box that conjures demons of sadistic limit-experience.

First time reading it, great so far.

2. "Yeah I've said that many times."

The "What if there's no God?" scene from Love & Death, Allen's homage to Dostoyevsky.

3. Hellraiser

The film adaptation of item #1.

Classic.

4. The Company of Wolves

Great horror film directed by Neil Jordan, adapted from the story by Angela Carter, and included in her book 'The Bloody Chamber' which I need to re-review in October.

Excellent soundtrack too.

5. Skatt Bros - Walk the Night

Like the darker version of The Village People

Somebody put the song to clips from Cruising on YouTube, works perfectly.

A seagull that gives me Hitchcock vibes.

Could be that the red dot on his beak looks like a bloodstain.

I'm 100 pages into Solenoid by Mircea Cartarescu. One of the best novels I've read in 50 years. It's massively impressive.

Hey Cliff, looks like we're in our Indian Summer over here across the pond. Reading-wise I just finished Trainspotting, a jolting and loosely threaded set of stories of drug addicts and miscreants in Scotland and London. The use of scottish can be offputting at first but eventually its not so bad. As a side note there's liberal use of swear words throughout especially the C word, one short paragraph in particular I noted it was used eight times. Now reading the more sedate Gilead and then, all being well, finally Madame Bovary.
