How do you do?

Thanks very much for your continued support, hope this finds you well.

1. Book to read: Machines in the Head by Anna Kavan (Paid Link)

This is a collection of short stories by an interesting British author I've been meaning to read.

Fans of hers include J.G. Ballard and Anaïs Nin.

Compared to Leonora Carrington, she was a more or less functional heroin addict for her entire life. She was also featured in a fictional segment of Adam Lehrer's Communions (Paid Link).

2. John Boorman's Point Blank

Mentioned in Bret Easton Ellis' 'The Shards' (Paid Link) which I'm reading (and listening to the audiobook (Paid Link) read by him - Great experience, I recommend it).

Lee Marvin is hellbent on revenge after his wife left him for dead along with her secret lover, Marvin's bank heist partner.

Iconic scene in the LA airport. I've walked through that hall.

Shoot it like you mean it Lee Marvin.

3. A Reading of the Malleus Malificarum

Moon's Rare Books shows off and reads from his edition of the "Witch Hunter Bible".

Interesting when he mentions that you were probably considered a heretic if you didn't believe in Witchcraft.

Also from the same channel - An enormous 500 Year old Antiphonal book for Gregorian chants

That is a gargantuan book.

4. Medio Mutante

Killer synthpop track from a band based out of Mexico City.

5. The Angels of Dr. Who's 'Blink'

I never watched Dr. Who, except someone showed me this episode, and I admit, the Angels were memorably frightening. Great concept.

My favorite tree: The Banyon

Majestic chaos.

Cliff I tried to send you some pictures of an amazing Banyan tree in Maui I took a couple years ago. It’s incredible, and was severely damaged by the wildfire in Lahaina. You can see pictures online of what it looked like before the fire, and after. It is one of my favorite trees ever!

Doctor Who fan here. “Blink” is definitely a highlight. It works even as a standalone thing. My personal favorite episode is “Heaven Sent.” I think it’s an impeccable tv episode in all senses. Has a real “Borges” quality to it too…
