Given the heavy subject matter discussed on this album, I hope Quadeca is doing okay, and I hope you are, too.
Extra afterthoughts:
- I was a little unsure about the album until the interlude; after that, I was hooked
- Up until this (or maybe the last album?), Quadeca was more known for fun/boastful rap songs, which is understandable given his young age. Now, he's trying to push boundaries and evoke emotion, which i definitely felt from this album even without this initial context
- The more I listened to it, the more I grasped the bigger picture. Brilliantly executed
- I still can't believe the Danny Brown feature broke my computer
- This album seemed to rely more on the overall feel of the instrumental, visuals, track titles, promotion, and concept of the album—rather than on lyrical storytelling. But there are plenty of great one-liners in here, so I'm excited to see how he grows as a lyricist from this point on.
- A lot of the topics are very personal, and I can feel the intimacy, but to me it feels like there's still a little wall that he won't let me cross-over.
- The seamless flow of energy from track to track is fantastic, but it does make it difficult to single out individual songs, which makes me question the album's longevity
- Favourites: house settling, fantasyworld
- Least favourite: don't mind me, knots (sorry)
