On first listen, auntie diaries kinda just flew over my head. I only really knew it for his use of the f-slur, and never re listened to it. I just listened to silent hill, since that song is really fun. It was only until like half a year later (Jan 2023) that I sat down and re listened to the whole project again. It was so much more of an emotional listen, since it resonated with me more than when i listened to it the night it came out. All the songs have fallen out of my rotation but I'm still confused as to why auntie diaries only impacted me 6 months later. Still a great album, favorite track is crown :p.

Honestly, you do give off a very authentic vibe in all your content. I know my words can't change how you feel about your own perceptions and content, but just thought it was important to say!

the reaction you had to Auntie Diaries and how visceral it was mirrors how i reacted to Mother I Sober almost exactly. i still have trouble listening to it, but in the best way possible. this reaction (the yt cut) is the first video of yours i saw, and i'm so grateful it brought me into the path universe :)

6:23, "Kendrick made you think about it, but he is not your savior."

I dont really go back to MMTBS as much as his other stuff, but i still try to listen to it every once in awhile to refresh myself about it, and it absolutely has grown on me way more than my first few listens. I think the highlight for me personally on the entire album is in Mother I Sober at the end when Whitney tells him "You did it, I'm proud of you. You broke a generational curse." To me that feels like the most rewarding part of the whole album. In some ways, I also relate to that because I believe that generational curses and past family traumas can affect people alot. It's definitely a heavy topic to put in the album

I still have a deep personal connection when listening to the album (even though I don't regularly listen to it anymore), especially after seeing him live. Mr. Morale definitely doesn't have to be replayable to be considered a fantastic album in my opinion. It still touched and resonated with me at the end of the day, and that's really all that matters. Ain't nobody else doing what Kendrick's been doing. I will return to it every so often though. Still worth every second of my time!

imo the second disc, if released on its own, would be very close to tpab in terms of being kendricks best, while the first disc does bring it down a bit, i still love it as an album. def underrated in both kendricks discog and muisc as a whole

imo auntie diaries, mother i sober, and count me out are all top 10 kendrick songs and each could be argued as his best

One comment in and I already completely love the form, the engagement, and the substantive point you’re making. Grateful for your creativity/building, and grateful to be a person with whom you’re sharing it. Keep doing you, P!

so interesting that you see the discs split like this, i definitely see them as one full piece and i love it all haha

(all of the) work must require a lot of vulnerability and stretching, I’d imagine. keep doing you—you’re always doing great. might sound platitudinous/trite, but I mean it most sincerely. take good care!

yep some songs definitely need a different context to "click"—i think that's where a lot of my worry for listening to Blonde comes from lol

mother i sober is so powerful, and im so blown away with how open/vulnerable Kendrick was to write it, let alone put it out. thank u for sharing <3

Honestly, that worry is what makes me want to listen to new music. Like when I listened to peggy 2 years ago I was like "haha this guy said cracker he funny." Then LP came out and I listened to it and started getting into peggy hard. That journey is the reason I even listen to new music. Sometimes it does kinda stay the same FOREVER (asap rocky) but the chance of there being like a realization is all I need. Hope that helps or something :)

i try to see them as one cohesive thing but imo there is a pretty large difference between disc 1 and 2 i struggle to see them as one thing when i like disc 2 so much more
