Chapter 205: Reincarnator Squad? Rei Ayanami and Bruce! (Part 2) (Patreon)

Suddenly, the lightning froze!
Space and time came to a standstill at that exact same moment!
The torrential Psionic Storm hovered in mid-air, like a frozen purple waterfall.
The charging Zealots remained frozen in their slashing postures. Their psionic blades were a mere inch away from the nearest Reincarnators, yet they could not advance even a fraction further.
The blinking Stalkers were locked in the exact moment of their phase shift, resembling shattered mirrors.
The Scout fighters in the air were completely immobilized, the humming of their engines coming to an abrupt halt.
The entire battlefield instantly plunged into an eerie, dead silence. Only the faint glimmer radiating from the temple crystal continued to flow.
The bitterly struggling Reincarnators were horrified to find the pressure on them suddenly vanish. They looked around in bewilderment; staring at this scene where time itself seemed to have stopped, their faces were filled with absolute disbelief.
Alex's figure slowly emerged from the shadows. Taking a leisurely stroll across the frozen battlefield, he arrived before the shell-shocked Reincarnator squad.
His gaze swept over Lilith and Bruce.
A trace of profound wariness and indescribably complex emotions flashed through Lilith's crimson eyes.
The man who had destroyed her world had actually appeared at such a time!
Bruce Wayne, the Dark Knight renowned for his iron will and brilliant intellect, had eyes filled with extreme shock beneath his cowl.
He recognized Alex! In his memories, this was the powerful man who had ended Superman's regime, altering the course of their world like a veritable god.
His throat felt dry as he uttered a single name with great difficulty.
"Alex?"
Bruce's voice was filled with unbelievable shock.
How could he be here?
"It is me," Alex gave a slight nod. His gaze was perfectly placid, as if freezing time was no harder than lifting a finger.
"Why are you here? What is your mission?"
The squad leader, a middle-aged man who looked thoroughly weather-beaten, hurriedly answered.
"S-Sir! Thank you for saving us! Our mission is to seize the ancestral Memory Crystal enshrined deep within the temple."
"It is said that crystal contains some of the Protoss's most ancient, forbidden knowledge regarding the origin of the universe and the Xel'Naga."
"But their defensive forces far exceeded our estimates; we were discovered the moment we sneaked in!"
The middle-aged man pointed toward the depths of the ruins, indicating an altar enveloped by a powerful psionic shield.
Hovering above the altar was a massive crystal emitting a faint blue light; inside, a galaxy seemed to flow.
Alex followed his gesture, glancing at the heavily guarded altar and the crystal resting upon it.
The psionic matrix and defensive forces deployed by the Protoss were indeed powerful—more than enough to wipe out an elite Reincarnator squad.
"A Memory Crystal?"
Alex had no interest in such an object.
However, he was immensely curious as to how Lilith and Bruce had become Reincarnators.
If Lilith and Bruce could both become Reincarnators, did that mean Saga, Shaka, Aiolia, and the others could as well?
Moreover, what purpose did the Reincarnation Space have for needing this Memory Crystal?
He needed to have a proper chat with Lilith and Bruce about all of this.
Alex made no superfluous movements. He simply faced the direction of the heavily guarded altar and casually flicked his finger.
Bang!
An irresistible, colossal force descended.
The psionic shield—maintained jointly by the High Templars and the temple crystal, and sturdy enough to withstand a bombardment from a battleship's main cannon—instantly shattered and dissipated like a fragile soap bubble.
The heavy Immortal mechs guarding the perimeter of the altar, along with their powerful plasma shields, were instantly crushed and warped by an irresistible force, reduced to piles of scrap metal sparking with electricity.
All obstacles were completely eradicated.
Alex gently beckoned with his hand. The massive crystal emitting a faint blue light, carrying the ancient memories of the Protoss, was slowly lifted from the altar as if pulled by an invisible thread. It flew steadily toward Alex, finally hovering obediently in front of him as its light swirled softly.
