Chapter 190: Doctor Strange Supreme (Patreon)

Rex found that opening a time portal here was far more difficult than in the Resident Evil world.
Fortunately, his Origin Power level was higher than before. After consuming half of his Origin Power, he finally managed to open the portal, setting the time to the night of Strange's car accident.
He had asked Strange about this event in the past, so naturally, he knew the exact time and location.
Stepping through the portal, Rex returned to the civilized world. He immediately suited up in the Mark 50 and flew toward the site of the incident at top speed.
"An Iron Man suit?" Uatu's voice sounded beside Rex's ear. "It seems you gained quite a lot from Peter."
"A service fee, haha. After all, I travel through the multiverse, and these things are also my goals," Rex said frankly.
"Rationally utilizing your conditions to continuously improve your strength... If superheroes in many worlds had your awareness, their worlds wouldn't have met with destruction."
Uatu actually expressed appreciation for Rex's actions.
He admired the excellent qualities of humanity, but he had also witnessed the deep-rooted flaws of humans and other races. Rex's style of doing things was already considered very mild.
"Do you always stand?" Rex struck up a conversation with Uatu during his flight.
"Yes."
"You do not need to eat?"
"We have no need for sustenance," Uatu answered.
"What a pity. You cannot enjoy the happiness of food."
Uatu countered, "Judging a Watcher by human standards is clearly inappropriate."
"But you fit the human standard for a friend," Rex suddenly said.
Uatu froze. He had observed the multiverse for an unknown amount of time, and this was the first time someone had called him a friend.
He didn't speak, but it was clear that Rex's words were very well received by Uatu.
Rex soon arrived at the location of Strange's car accident. A sports car had already suffered a horrific crash here and was half-submerged in the water.
"The situation is not good. This world has already begun to disintegrate. I failed to return to the original timeline of the car accident."
Rex realized that his time portal could traverse time, but not space.
Therefore, he could only return to the past of the current timeline, not to the space-time where Doctor Strange first had his accident.
He sighed. "I am still not strong enough."
"This has nothing to do with you; it is the choice of the multiverse," Uatu consoled him. In truth, he knew this from the very beginning.
But what he didn't know was that Rex was fully aware of this when he opened the portal.
Rex was never a bleeding heart. Saving a timeline offered no particular benefit to him; after all, only Uatu would know about it.
In Rex's eyes, the most valuable thing in this universe was Doctor Strange Supreme!
To save Christine, Strange Supreme found the legendary Library of Cagliostro and obtained many lost magical texts.
From the magic books, Strange discovered that manipulating space and time required immense magical power. Thus, he found a way to absorb the power of mystical creatures.
While other sorcerers borrowed power, this one blatantly stole it.
After consuming mystical creatures for hundreds of years, he became the most powerful Doctor Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Strange Supreme's strength could even match that of Infinity Ultron, who had gathered all the Infinity Stones and fought his way through the multiverse.
Therefore, Rex's goal from the start was to gain Strange Supreme's favor!
As for the method, he had already figured that out.
Rex looked up at Uatu and said, "Even if I cannot save this universe for now, I want to preserve a sliver of hope for the multiverse."
"Hope?" Uatu nodded. "Where there is hope, there is a future."
"What do you plan to do?"
Suddenly, he noticed a disturbance. "Strange is here. He can sense me. Rex, do what you must."
With that, Uatu's figure vanished, and two Doctor Stranges wearing cloaks teleported into the vicinity.
One looked exactly like the one Rex had seen before, while the other had a dark complexion and heavy dark circles under his eyes.
This was the Doctor Strange of this universe—both of them.
Because Strange kept using the Time Stone to return to this moment, trying to save Christine, he severely disrupted space-time. Consequently, the Ancient One came from another timeline to stop him.
However, Strange had the Eye of Agamotto and the Time Stone, so even the Ancient One couldn't fully capture him. Left with no choice, the Ancient One split the timeline, dividing Strange into two.
The Strange consumed by obsession went to find a way to save Christine, becoming Doctor Strange Supreme.
The other chose to let go of his obsession and became the Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar-Taj.
To reverse the timeline, Strange Supreme needed to merge with his other half, so he captured the ordinary Strange, intending to persuade him here.
However, the ordinary Strange had already been warned by the Ancient One that breaking the reality of Christine's death would cause the entire universe to collapse. Therefore, no matter what Strange Supreme said, he refused to agree.
Thus, the two Stranges started fighting on the spot. Unsurprisingly, the ordinary Strange was no match for him. However, he had a Guardian Spell cast jointly with Wong, which protected him from harm until the spell wore off—similar in effect to Rex's Origin Power shield.
The clash between two top-tier sorcerers was incredibly dazzling and dizzying. However, having only been a sorcerer for two years, the ordinary Strange simply couldn't contend with Strange Supreme. He could only rely on the Guardian Spell to tank damage and occasionally counterattack.
But it didn't take long for Strange Supreme to nearly deplete the Guardian Spell. Even the ordinary Strange's Cloak of Levitation was violently torn apart by Strange Supreme's magic.
During a lull in the battle, Strange Supreme vanished. Just as the ordinary Strange was puzzled, Strange Supreme suddenly emerged from his shadow, intending to attack from behind.
But this sneak attack failed because a magic shield appeared above the ordinary Strange's head.
Strange Supreme looked to the side; Rex was casting a spell in their direction.
Sensing the danger, the ordinary Strange quickly shifted positions and arrived next to Rex.
"Who are you? I have never seen you before."
Strange Supreme asked. He had reversed time to this point many times and was very familiar with the surroundings, but he had no recollection of Rex being at the scene of the accident.
In fact, he had noticed Rex as soon as he arrived but hadn't paid attention earlier; his mind was entirely focused on Christine.
"Stephen, I am from the multiverse. I am your friend," Rex answered. He displayed a magical seal of Kamar-Taj to prove he was telling the truth.
"Do not break the Absolute Point in Time, or this universe will collapse." Rex appeared to be offering advice, but in reality, he knew Strange Supreme wouldn't listen. He only said this to deepen Strange Supreme's guilt later on.
"No one can stop me from saving Christine!"
Sure enough, Strange Supreme shouted desperately. He launched a terrifying attack that forced Rex back, then grabbed the ordinary Strange and erased his Guardian Spell.
"Stephen, even if the Absolute Point in Time must be broken, let me..."
Rex shouted toward them, but Strange Supreme thought he was trying to stop him again, so he raised his hand and fired a magical shockwave at Rex.
Rex instantly brought out the Gotham Scepter to gain a buff effect, but he still couldn't block the attack. His chest was struck and completely caved in.
After all, Strange Supreme was a ruthless figure who could arm-wrestle Infinity Ultron. Rex was currently no match for him.
However, Strange Supreme wasn't a villain after all. He was merely consumed by his obsession to save his love and didn't aim to kill Rex; he simply wanted to incapacitate him.
Under the effect of the B-Rank Healing Factor, Rex's injuries recovered shortly after, but he remained lying on the ground without getting up.
At this point, he had said all the advice he needed to say. Afterward, when Strange Supreme recalled it, he could only blame himself for not listening.
According to plan, all Rex needed to do next was seize the moment.
