June/July Update (Patreon)

All right folks, this is gonna be a long post, but I'll try to keep it as clear and easy to read as possible. I'm gonna touch on the following subjects:

Updates in the Continuation

Progress on the chapter has been slow with my attention divided on my jobs, my new home, the passing of my uncle, Webtoons contest, and trying to do 2 versions of the same comic at the same time (I will go in further details about the Retcon Version further below).

By now most of those things are already over, so I am going to re-focus on resuming the Comic Continuation by finishing the episode that goes after "Cornered". That being said I want to clarify that as of right now, the full comic will still be uploaded in Tapastic, with both its old and new pages in the proper order (The old ones being updated with new ones as they are finished).

In regards to Webtoons only the Retcon version of the comic will be uploaded, and not only that, it will have changes to the designs to comply with the policy of the site. I thought about deleting the series entirely from that platform, but with the amount of suscriptions and views I didn't felt comfortable and decided against it (Will update it shortly).

Retcon Version

Some of you have been following the story from the Merpals version back in DeviantArt and see this Retcon as the 2nd Reboot of the story, and I don't think I explained it properly before so I am gonna do so now and tell you what will happen from now on.

When the partnership of Merpals came to an end, I began to work on Marine Defenders independently which people saw it as the 1st Reboot. I didn't had any trouble working on it since I was its original writer to begin with, however I did not had any drawing skills, so I began purchasing the services of other artists.

I wanted the comic to become a Webtoon Original, and the best chance for me to do it was to participating in a contest, however in order to do that I had to unify the comic on a single style and that's when I decided to try my best to do it by myself this time, hence the creation of the Retcon.

The Retcon was gonna include all of the bits of story I had to cut out due the limit of the panels I could pay for, and it was all going well until Webtoon started to remove some of the old episodes due to censorship and that's when I started to be afraid. I was gonna replace my entry with Fool Lunches which was an entry that was compliant with their policy, but due to the moving and time constrains I was encouraged to continue with Marine Defenders despite my fears.

The comic had an awfull start, being flagged on the first day for censorship again, and I spent many days (if not weeks) modifying the design in a way that was acceptable, but none of it worked except for just adding obvious pieces of clothing.

1st Stage ended, didn't make it nor I got an opportunity to be an Original, and I don't want the Retcon to be a waste so I plan to keep working on it but it won't be a priority. If there is a part on the Continuation that was meant to appear on the Retcon, I shall put it in the Story Snippets.

Streams

Streams will be back once again on Fridays, this time at 4pm Mexico Time (CST).

The streams will not only be about Marine Defenders, but also any other kind of art that I want to work with. There will also be casual gaming because I enjoy that too, and sometimes I might stream both art and games on the same day.

Not much to say on this regard other that I'll try to make proper announcements this time around.

Patreon Tier

This was on a previous post, but I plan to update the Patreon Tier to include the Story Snippets I want to create. I had a lot of delays on that because of the passing of my Uncle and some other personal stuff, but it is my hope to have that updated from July and onwards.

I know I'm behind with the No-Shells of June, and I might end up delivering that one a little bit on early July, but please bear with me, I'm doing my best.

That is all I wanted to share with you all. I'm sorry for how messy everything is right now and how long is taking to get a single episode, but I promise you I'm still working on all of this. Wish me luck and I wish you all the best too.
